Good morning from a sunny east coast.
I’m just chatting to my best friend she finally got her DH home at 10 last night. They were waiting for hospital transport all day to take him home. By nine o’clock there was still nothing so she took him home herself. It took a lot out of them both and their DC were at home to help her in with him. She slept on an airbed by his side in the living room. We informed our DC last night he’s in his final days as our children all grew up together. We are there for her as she supports her DH.
Last night we had a delightful meal with the other grandparents of our DGDs. We all laughed so much about the funny things our DGDs do. They love our DD so much and are a wonderful support to her as our SIL works away so much and we are so grateful to them. I think my DH and the other Grandpa will have hangovers today as we were the last out of the restaurant as they were switching off the lights then back to their house to call a taxi home so they opened a prosecco. DH isn’t up yet. When we got home he had a last lemoncello it was a mistake I think. We just need to go and pick up the car this afternoon but have nothing else on today.
I will properly read your posts later. But I can see there are lots of you to mention.
There is alot of sadness so you are all in my thoughts. 🌼
If you have sun hope it can brighten your day a little. X

Middle son and wife are currently winging their way to Rome, with two reluctant teens. The idea being to get away for the weekend and destress before exams…
Thank you Stilllearning.
Grammaretto, what a shock. My condolences to you and your family💐
Grammaretto my condolences.
Susan that's hard. It's such a long way to go for 5 minutes of connection. My thoughts go to you both, ladies.
I'm listening to Swan Lake finale on the radio. It is sublime
Just read your sad news Grammaretto, sincere condolences to you and your family x
Morning all, weary weekend here as I have developed a urine infection and am feeling tired an miserable!
I think I’ve probably had it brewing for a while but I’ve just been drinking lots of water and felt fine but suddenly yesterday I didn’t feel fine. Got antibiotics and cancelled planned activities, one of which was taking 10 year old out to lunch. I did this a few weeks ago for his big sister and DD says he is a bit miffed. His ADHD personality makes him quite vulnerable although you have to know him to discover this, he presents quite differently.
Oh to have your talent grandMattie.
That was rotten Susan, you’re right, give your mum (and yourself) the moment’s joy of recognition and just leave when it starts to go wrong, that way you take the good memory home. It is so very hard.
Wishing everyone a pleasant weekend
A later good morning.from Northampton where it is bright and sunny 🌞. Just listening to Tony Blackburn Sounds of the Sixties on catch-up radio. Happy memories!
A very active morning yesterday at my three dance classes, then a dancing friend and I went for a coffee afterwards and had a good catch-up, as.it had.been nearly 4 weeks since we crossed paths; she had been away on holiday for a couple of weeks.
Made a lamb keema curry for dinner, which was delicious and I now have three more portions waiting to go in the freezer.
An early lunch today as I am going to a rugby match which starts at 1.30 so I need to be on a bus by 12.30. For once it is not my Saints team playing (they are away at Exeter), but a Royal Navy team playing the RAF. An ex Saints player is playing for the navy, so will be cheering him on!
Then I shall walk to the shops for a few things before getting the bus home.
Not read any posts yet but will catch up later.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
So sorry to hear your sad news grammaretto sending condolences to you and your family 💐
No wonder you’re upset this morning Grammaretto such sadness especially with an unexpected death. A bolt out of the blue must be quite shocking. 💐
That said, dealing with high anxiety over cancer is tough too in a different way. I’ve come to realise there’s no ‘good way’ to go really.
Condolences Grammaretto🙏🏻
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Du
I had sad news yesterday that my DBiL had died suddenly and unexpectedly.
He's been a wonderful partner for my DSiL for 15 years. I've been looking at the wedding photos and wish we'd spent more time together.
I was going to have a stall at the street fair today but I don't feel like it at all.
Sorry to sound so miserable.
I do hope you all have a pleasant day.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Usual Friday yesterday, art in the morning and a shop. I was surprised to receive a big bill from my solicitor dating back to 2018 after my DH died and including recent work for shares which had reappeared. No breakdown for earlier work and hard to believe it wasn’t dealt with then. Will make some further enquiries…
The plans for the next couple of days have gone awry. My friend’s open mic has been cancelled until next week and a coach trip I booked has been also cancelled for lack of bookings. Plenty to get on with, but I need to dream up something for out of the house. It’s quiet now family have left and flying DD flies to Miami today, feeling tired with a lot on.
Thoughts to Marzipan RosesandLilac and all🌺
Good morning from Shropshire.Sunny at the moment but rain forecast later.
Yesterday’s visit to mum was mixed. When we arrived she was so happy to see us but after a few minutes it was pretty awful. We stayed half an hour but really should have left after five minutes.I don’t know if these visits do any of us any good💔I say as long as I keep getting a beautiful smile and such joy when I arrive we will keep going.I was sent a video a couple of hours later of her joining in singing therapy and full of smiles.
We went for a meal out on the way home then collected the children from school which brightened the day.We are both exhausted today so a quiet day hopefully.
I am sorry you feel unwell Grandmabatty and hope you feel better as the day goes on.Also that madeleine is ok.
Usedtobeblonde , like Mary I remember following your journey with your husband💐
Thinking of all our absent friends and those struggling and wishing everyone a good day🌷🦩
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its 8°C ans sunny but showers forecast later and a high of only 13°C.
My Saturday pal (L’il Miss) is coming over to play soon but ‘only’ for 2 hours today grandma as I’m going to a swim birthday party at lunch’. Okay poppet we will have fun till then (I’ve bought a table tennis set they’ll be ping pong balls all around the room as I have hopeless eye/hand coordination 😳). I thought we could open up the butterfly section on the dining table and give it a go. No net but hey probably for the best anyway!
I had bereavement counselling yesterday, a lot to unpack in my first session and I cried pretty much throughout. I came to realise the best description of Himself was ‘fearless’ in so many ways. Second session next Friday afternoon. I’m not sure what I hope to get out of it really. I’m new to this concept but think it’s worth pursuing.
Yorkshire Lass is driving over today. She will swing by to call in on her grandpa who is not far off 94 now, see her sister for coffee and then come to me for lunch. We may well go out, a treat as I don’t see her so much as t’other daughter who lives up the road.
Good Morning from Durham. It’s bright with patches of blue sky. Bodes well.
DD2 is coming with DGS2 this anfternoon after his swimming lesson, then we’ll see what he wants to do. I’ve plenty of books, games and toys here to keep him occupied, but we’ll go out if he wants to. I hate shopping at weekends, but need to nip out to get him some fruit.
DGS1 phoned me last night - I saw a lot of him when he was younger, but not so much now, which is a shame.
💐R&L - don’t over do things.
💐UTBB.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. utbb💐. madeleine, I hope you are feeling better.
I felt quite unwell yesterday and my feet were swollen and sore, so I rested most of the day and elevated my legs. I suspect it was the unexpected longer walking stint on Thursday that did it.
I slept fairly well, although I was up at one watching tv for a bit.
Today I still feel unwell with a lingering headache and my feet aren't much better. Another quiet day. Have a good day all.
