Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry but not quite twilight here in Brackley this morning.
Up to the usual routine with getting a bus to shop in Bicester ,and also chat to people I know.
My health OK at the moment.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a Hotel in Birmingham.

Lovely walk yesterday with ma Walk & Talk group through Bluebell woods , then looping back along the canal.

The play last night, To Kill a Mockingbird was extremely brilliant. Standing ovation and loud cheers at the end.

Will be down to breakfast shortly, then home on the train.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning and it’s bright here in Essex. No rain forecast. Always a chilly breeze.

Dh was a little better yesterday and I got the new fold up travel wheelchair out. Took him and little pooch for a short outing.
That’s the first and last time!!!. He moaned the whole time, uncomfortable and bumpy, little pooch got in the way of the wheels, couldn’t get him up little lumps in the pavement and it was so heavy to push. I didn’t think our road was uphill !,, 🥵. It isn’t the right chair for him. So another piece of wasted equipment and I don’t have a lot of storage room.

This not driving is becoming an issue.

Anyway, today I’m being picked up by a friend and taken to the pub to meet our Friday gang. Dh not well enough so Dd will sit in with him. I’m in need of jolly company and a couple of G and T’s. .

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day and hope all the mountaineers get closer to the summit.🧗🏽‍♀️.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it feels mild and we’ve light grey clouds
Enjoy visiting the Eden Project tomorrow cornergran, it’s years since we were there but I still remember going and thoroughly enjoyed it
Yesterday it was lovely sunshine here and I enjoyed pottering in the garden for a while. I also got all the bedding dried outside. Today it’s back to the gym, I’ll do a couple of classes including a line dance class then I’ll walk into town before getting the bus home. I’ll call into M&S food too and pick up a few treats to enjoy over the weekend
There’s no bluebells in flower up here yet but they’re slowly getting ready!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

DH has an appointment to get bloods taken and to his BP checked.
His BP remains dangerously high. DS has taken sometime off work, to give me a break. Normally I would insist on going, bur I'm tired of nagging him.

I spent yesterday in and out of the garage, bagging items for the tip. DS has volunteered to do a run today. We have so much stuff in the garage and I can find nothing. It drives me mad. DH continuously moves things and then dumps more stuff on top of it.

For my belated Mother's Day gift, DD is taking me out. She suggested a trail round the posh charity shops, but I requested a trip to Braehead, IKEA and lunch in McDonald's.
I always try to cook healthy meals, but I crave some junk food.

Today, the preparation for the move to the Parish Hall begin,
The P.P assumed, I would be there, co-ordinating it all. ( I did organise the volunteers)
I told him, that DH had a medical appointment, I just didn't say DS was taking him and I was going shopping. 😉
I do more than enough.
I will be there most of the weekend and have also averted a few disasters this week.
Despite feeling constantly unwell, I do more than my share.

Good to see you keeping busy, R&L, but you also need to rest.
On the advice of my RA consultant, I reluctantly changed to an automatic car. I should have changed years ago, I love it! Go for it, while you feel well enough.

I am wondering how Mr Ginster is faring and hoping that yesterday's hospital appointment had a positive outcome, Susan.
Best wishes to all,x

Good morning from Stockport, once again I haven’t looked out so can’t report on the weather.
I didn’t have a good day yesterday.
So tired and lethargic, age is really catching up with me.
I received a text message late from a friend reminding me of a very vague arrangement to meet up this afternoon, I shall reply after I have had breakfast when I know just how I feel.
R&L I am so pleased you are keeping busy, a new car will be a real boost to you.
I hope very much your H is being supportive and kind.
Must rouse myself now, I will need to wash my hair if I do decide to go out later.
Hope you all find some contentment today.

Good morning from murky Leicestershire.

I took my car Rosesandlilac to We Buy Any Car and they offered me a much better price than the garage on the spot. I made an appointment online first.

The bluebells are amazing kitty I walked to our local wood yesterday. The exercise did me good. Will try and post a picture.

I need to go to the butcher this morning then Pilates this afternoon.

I then have to decide whether to interfere in my DS’s affairs or let him get on with it. In the night I was determined to but in the light of day I think probably best not to.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

monk08 Fri 17-Apr-26 07:40:57

Good morning all from the Black country.
Need to make a few phone calls and catch up with some paperwork. If I can persuade DH would like to go and look for some new dining chairs.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans, I shall be taking a break for a while☀️

Redcar Fri 17-Apr-26 07:38:34

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Grey here too, and signs of a light overnight shower. The washing is on and hopefully it will dry outside today. Yesterday was a nothing sort of day, went for a walk, did my exercises, then pottered about. I had a second telephone asthma review in the evening, much more useful than Monday’s tick box exercise!

bellasnana I hope you are feeling better today.

cornergran I sympathise regarding the rats. We have them in the garden occasionally as there used to be a field behind our house. Now there is a housing estate and lots of the residents feed the birds and leave food out on the ground for foxes! I hope you enjoy the Eden Project tomorrow.

susan I hope you have a good journey to see your mum and that she recognises you when you get there. A distressing situation for you and your immediate family.

melanie I hope the dog situation is resolved soon. At the very least the dog needs to be muzzled when with other people.

ash that extra bit of storage in the boot of your car will be very useful. DD2 keeps the family welly boots in theirs.

Thinking of all those with health and other worries.

Have the best day you can everyone- Friday again! I don’t know where the time goes, but I don’t seem to achieve much during the week!

Greyduster Fri 17-Apr-26 07:37:48

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sky is uniformerly grey. The forecast is for rain. Yesterday’s walk in the woods was lovely - lots of bluebells out. I missed my usual lunch date with DD yesterday as she was working. It’s the only chance we have for a face to face catch up in the week, but she texted me later to ask what I had eaten during the day and was not impressed when I said a banana and a toasted tea cake! I redeemed myself at teatime.

This morning I must sort out a new energy contract which I keep putting off but am running out of time. School this afternoon - Friday is a short session.

Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannyIvy Fri 17-Apr-26 07:34:13

Good morning from another grey day here in Cambridgeshire where it looks like it will be windy later.

Anyone else had any problems with logging on to Gransnet today I had to accept their terms and conditions had a message about private browsing and if I wanted to post log in again and I had forgotten my password so had to reset that. All a bit of a faff.

No real plans today except a bit of washing, a little housework maybe some gardening and then meeting the little ones from school later and cooking their dinner. DH is up early to do his minutes of a meeting held last night and off cycling so thankfully the TV will remain off for most of the day😂

Wishing everyone a peaceful day 🌷Have the best day possible

baubles Fri 17-Apr-26 07:28:07

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

It’s been a busy week although we haven’t really done anything. DS and his children have been staying so my normally tidy, calm, quiet house now feels like a kids club. There’s been much cuttings, glueing, and painting not to mention den building game playing.
Their Mum is coming to collect them all later this afternoon and will stay to eat with us after which I’ll retire to a darkened room to rest. grin

I’ve probably missed a lot this week but I hope all is well and wish everyone a good day.

harrigran Fri 17-Apr-26 07:25:41

Good morning from a dry but overcast NE.
Yesterday was a busy day for me, I had a lunchtime appointment for my covid vaccination. I was ready to leave when my friend rang for a chat, typical that people only seem to ring at an inopportune time.
After my vaccination I went to the opticians to make an appointment, lo and behold they had one within half an hour so saved me another trip.
I chose new glasses, reading and distance and thought I might as well have some new sunglasses too. When frames were chosen and paperwork done the assistant told me that I could have the sunglasses for free a nice bonus.
When I got home I was shattered ànd just plonked myself on the sofa.
I was getting ready for bed when my sister messaged me and asked if she could ring and talk, she offloads and it would have meant a disturbed night for me so I said it would have to be today.
Today I have the piano tuner coming at 11am, hopefully just straight forward with no repairs.
Have a good day.

hollysteers Fri 17-Apr-26 07:25:33

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
DD left for the south yesterday after helping me with some admin and jet washing. She’s very thoughtful.
I drove twenty miles to my hairdresser, not close, but she suits me and I practise my songs in the car.

Today, art group, washing sheets and other mundane things.
I’m enjoying catching up with plays I missed from the 70s and 80s on YouTube. Last night, an excellent Noel Coward play, Song at Twilight with Deborah Kerr and Paul Scofield, new to me.
Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning from a grey W Kent where we are packed up ready for a short break in Norfolk.
Best wishes

kittylester Fri 17-Apr-26 07:24:24

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

I have to do a top up shop today and go to the butcher's. We are hoping to go to the local bluebell woods this pm if the weather is ok.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gagagran Fri 17-Apr-26 07:20:00

Good morning all from a dull central south coast. Think we are promised some sunshine later. Hope so anyway - lifts the spirits.

My Tesco delivery is due between 9 and 10am. I think their delivery staff must have to pass a customer friendly test because they are all, without exception, kind, helpful and nice people. I enjoy seeing who it will be from week to week, named on the tracker attached to the receipt. Gorgeous George is my favourite - can you guess why? wink

DD is in Berlin until Sunday - at a conference. She is such a busy bee and much travelled both with her job and from their own travels. She doesn't get that from me. I am a real home bird.

We have our jabs at the surgery to look forward to tomorrow. Both of us are having covid boosters and RSV and I am not looking forward to it as I often get a red and itchy arm after jabs. Is it worth taking an antihistamine before we go? Any advice?

DH is out for a morning cycle ride with his chums and they may decide to have some lunch out too so I shall have to wait and see what he wants on his return. Can always come up with something quick. My Mum used to say that you can always make a meal if you have eggs and potatoes in. DH especially likes my omelettes.

Thinking of all our strugglers and hoping for some easing of worries, troubles, sorrows or difficulties of any kind. KBO is all you can do sometimes. sunshine

Georgesgran Fri 17-Apr-26 07:18:02

Good Morning from Durham. It’s been raining overnight. As yet there’s no sign of bluebells up here.
I’m having 3 new blinds fitted this afternoon, no specific time given, so it looks like an opportunity to do a few jobs at home. I should start by treating the weeds growing on my drive.
You could always get an online price from webuyanycar R&L then deduct a chunk, to allow for their fault finding procedures. I must say I was happy with what I got for DH’s big twin-cab from them, as I didn’t relish selling it privately.
I’m hoping to hear better news today about some of our poorlies and their patient carers - fingers crossed.

Best wishes to all. X

EkwaNimitee Fri 17-Apr-26 07:14:40

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle where rain is forecast. That's because I'm going out soon for a hair appointment!
Yesterday I pottered at little jobs before going out to my midday GP appointment re the bone scan and the osteopenia it uncovered. It was rather inconclusive, he talked about going down the drug route, me about controlling/reversing it by dietary and exercise means. It ended by him referring me to the specialist osteoporosis nurse to make the decisions. Meanwhile, I shall try to up my exercise and up my intake of calcium-rich foods.

After I get back from the hairdresser, I'll do more sorting out of stuff and then settle to reading though, if it's not raining, a walk may be possible.

Have a good day if you can everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 17-Apr-26 07:07:26

Good morning, and yes it’s another grey day here in S E Essex!

I am off to the gym first thing, hopefully have a tea (the coffee at the gym is far too strong for my taste, I am a latte girl, never instant, I love my coffee machine at home) and natter.

I did go to Lakeside yesterday, DH decided to join me, he hates shopping…

The new White Company Shop loved up to my expectations, and my bank account is significantly lighter.

Thinking of all with troubles and ills, 🙋‍♀️

karmalady Fri 17-Apr-26 07:05:52

Good morning from s somerset, clouds and showers today

The optician appointment went very well yesterday and he had also requested an OCT scan. Last I had was 12 years ago and I do have dry AMD in my left eye, very common to get this as we age. It was first seen about 12 years ago. I am ok about that, its under control and everything else is good

The roads near me are going from bad to worse, muck and mud, I am very much looking forward to the last stage, which will be tarmac, I am guessing another month before I can really get back into cycling

Today I am pottering with exercise included. I will be making ready meals, madras curry and rice this time. My meat/fish freezer drawer is emptying nicely but slowly

I have a bit of garage tidying and I will get that done today and will make paper shreds to keep my composting worms happy

Grandmabatty Fri 17-Apr-26 07:05:26

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and damp. Rain is forecast. Bellasnana how annoying about your washing! Have a nice day with Milo. Cornergran the thought of rats fills me with horror. Susan I hope you have a good visit to your mum.
Yesterday was a good day. My ballet chum arrived and insisted on driving to the station. Edinburgh was sunny and we got a taxi to the theatre (very decadent but necessary) which was heaving an hour and a half before the performance. The Red Shoes was marvellous. The dancing was sublime, in fact everything was fabulous-music, choreography, staging. I did manage to walk back to the station across the bridges rather than go down Cockburn Street which is fairly steep and would have challenged my balance issues. Once back in Polmont, we had a fish supper and chatted for a couple of hours. A lovely day.
Today I will get housework done and potter quietly about the house. I don't know if dd will call in as it's the last day of the Easter holidays. I shall enjoy being quiet, I think. Have a good day all.

cornergran Fri 17-Apr-26 07:02:19

rosesandlilac I’m with you, go to a garage you trust and yes, your car might sell for slightly more privately but goodness it can be a hassle.

RosesandLilac Fri 17-Apr-26 06:57:10

Good morning, a trifle damp here in south Glos and grey skies.
Totally random question— is it gray or grey? I never know!
Yesterday I didn’t do the ruddy kick boards in the kitchen, I got sidetracked into sorting out my mess around my recliner and somehow cleaning the kitchen didn’t happen 🤷🏼‍♀️
I will do it today, honestly.
I did get three loads of washing dried outside and put away before it started drizzling mid afternoon so pleased with that especially as it included changing the bed.
I’m going to make sweet and sour chicken for dinner, with M&S special fried rice and vegetable rolls, I actually fancied something different for once. We’re at least 12 miles from a decent Chinese takeaway unfortunately (or not!)
I have almost finished my piece of embroidery and I know what I want to do next so that’s good.
I’m getting quite good at keeping busy 😁, stops me thinking about what happens next….. I have booked a full valet for my car in 10 days then the new car search will begin. I will go to the garage it came from for help, they’re very friendly and I trust them. DH says I should sell it privately but I really wouldn’t know where to start and quite honestly I don’t need any more stress than I already have! He’s never sold one either.
Thinking of those who are struggling or unhappy, it’s hard sometimes isn’t it?
On a brighter note the woodpecker is nesting in a hole in one of the dead ash trees at the end of my garden, I hope we’ll see them on the bird feeders. The bluebells are out, as is the wild garlic. Isn’t springtime wonderful?
🌹

Ashcombe Fri 17-Apr-26 06:51:10

I’ve been known to leave sarnies in the fridge, cornergran so now I put a post it reminder on the front door! 🙄

cornergran Fri 17-Apr-26 06:42:14

Morning Mick, morning All. Another gloomy start to our corner of Somerset, rain in the forecast, chilly too

Our sofa was finally repaired yesterday, we’re delighted with the outcome. The not so good was a neighbour explaining she has been watching rats (notice the plural) running through the back gardens. Growing up on farms there were always rats around and as a child I was terrified by them in the chicken runs, the fear has remained. We live on a managed development, I have reported the sightings and requested the issue is managed! Folk do seem to see me as the answer to all problems and chief liaison person. Our development manager is a positive force so I’m hopeful. I’m afraid rodents are a down side of living close to a river and having neighbours who (over)feed the birds and put out leftovers for foxes.

Today’s agenda is a grocery top up shop this morning and a quiet afternoon. Tomorrow we’re off on a day trip to the Eden Project. We’ve not been for many years and are both looking forward to it. I really must remember the sandwiches this time and not find them in the fridge on our return. If I remember to do a list all will be well smile.

Best wishes to all. . Have the best day you can everyone.
