I never have but know a couple of people who have done so. Both had very different experiences. Person A kept being given well known traditional names from the Spiritualist, there is a person called, Peter, James, Margaret, Susan etc trying to make contact with you, none of these names meant anything to A and she came away feeling that she had learnt nothing. Person B said the Spiritualist She saw told her things about her childhood and life that no one outside her family would know. She felt the information was very accurate. How about you have you ever visited a Spiritualist and what was your experience like? Personally I remain a Sceptic.

I went to a medium years ago after my mother died. There was no message from her but the medium kept saying someone called Daisy was trying to get through. I knew no one of that name but the medium insisted it was Daisy. After the visit I was talking about it to an elderly aunt and she said “Oh yes that would be your grandmother’s sister Daisy” I had never heard her mentioned before.

My colleagues and I used to telephone mediums at work and put them on speaker phone. One day a medium insisted I had a child and got really angry because I was denying it. He said my misery was of my own making.

The reason I did this was because I had my child adopted. I never told anyone at work and didn't want them to find out.

I have had experiences where ‘I’ve known’ something. I believe all of us women at one time had what they’d call second sight. But we were killed in our millions as witches. So had to push it deep down, suppress it and ignore it.

Bit rude

No, and I never would.
A friends of mine did and the experience wasnt good, it was very upsetting for her.
Also my being a Christian the bible clearly tells us to stay away from it .

Mediums are far different from humans IMO

I don't quite know the term "spiritualist" but I will tell you there is another realm of consciousness that most people are oblivious to and that realm is the connection that we all have together as one. Strangely, my mother had it, I have it, my sons and daughter have it. It is something that you have to listen to in order for it to reveal and most people don't have the listen but all people have the "gift" but it is not a gift - it is just human nature. Ignored sometimes. Listened to, other times.

No - I don’t believe people can see the future - if they could they would be placing bets and winning daily on every race going. I think there are so many general comments made by these people that they could refer to anything and anybody.

I have a friend who is a spiritualist and she goes off to Singapore quite often to train others. I don’t like that sort of thing so she doesn’t talk about it to me. I believe she is very good. Knowing her, I would be very surprised if she is a phony or trying to get a lot of money , she is already mega rich.

No, because I don’t enjoy being played.

Celieanne86 Sun 19-Apr-26 23:30:42

Yes and I am a spiritualist medium, a blessing but a curse at times. I’m also a spiritual healer and this takes s lot of training and hard work, please don’t dismiss it lightly.

I went to a gathering in the skittle alley of our pub just for fun. She came through to several people, all of whom were
very impressed. After a break, she came to me through my husband, who had died about 6 months earlier. It was all very true, comforting and humorous as my husband was. Lots of the people there knew him and the previous visitations. I plan to go and see her privately.

No, I wouldn't waste my time or money on charlatans who prey on vulnerable people by claiming to be able to talk the dead. Imo it should be illegal and these people are the lowest of the low.

I desperately want to believe in spirits/ghosts and an after-life; I've been to see the late Colin Fry , who was a big disappointment, I must say (he's never come back, has he!)-and I recently went to see a psychic-so-called-st our local pub, who was absolutely terrible, didn't seem to get anything right, for anybody-total waste of £10, that was! I'm not giving up though-going to another one in June, with my brother, we desperately want our late brother to "come through", but I wont hold my breath!

Mojack26 Sun 19-Apr-26 17:27:23

Yes a few times...one in particular was spot on with nearly everything and there is no way she could have known these things! Some I did'nt know till I askedmy friend as something was pertaining to her mum,who I never met! She also told me 'Cissy was there' That was my great aunt on my mun's side and she was just fab and always funny! She described Aunt Cissy's personality to a T!

WinnieLily Sun 19-Apr-26 17:07:26

I have had 3 readings, all absolutely spot on. One in particular mentioned a boy child in spirit, it was my brother who had passed at around 3 weeks old 6 years before I was born and no one knew about him apart from my parents. She also knew other things no one else knew, including me.
The other 2 were by the same lady at a meeting, and she knew things that only I knew but it was my gran and dad who came through.

Exalted Wombat-each to their own, stop being derogatory, just scroll past!!

JaneJudge Sun 19-Apr-26 14:41:51

no. I have enough random people telling me weird stuff without going to a spiritualist

NannieChicken Sun 19-Apr-26 14:39:01

Yes, I saw one a few years ago. No asking questions or trying to get info out of me. What she told me was spot on and I left feeling 100% confident that she was genuine.

I attended a spiritualist church. The spiritualist told me someone was coming through and referencing a fountain without water. My partner had died a year before. We had planned a visit to Rome and throwing coins into the Trevi fountain. I went alone but the fountain was being cleaned and there was no water. I threw coins in anyway.

Fflaurie

May I just correct you, a Spiritualist is someone who believes in life after death, who follows the path and is totally convinced about life everlasting. It is a Medium who has the gift to give messages from beyond the grave, and to prove life exists after death as we know it. A Medium can be known as a Clairvoyant or a psychic. It is against all spiritual teachings for a Medium to predict the future, because it should not be in our hands to change the course of our destiny. So basically a Medium will give proof of an afterlife, and is a spiritualist by belief.

So a bunch of charlatans (or, to be charitable, of people who are deluded by wishful thinking) quibble over the precise categorisation of their BS (and, it seems, try to police it). Smile sweetly and pass by. Or, if you enjoy playing their variety of Dungeons and Dragons, admit that's all you're doing and don't pay too much for it.

My mother knew things before they happened and absolutely hated it. One day I was out shopping with her as a teenager and she said suddenly we had to go home as there was a problem. We hurried home and the water boiler was on the point of exploding.

Another time she got my dad to phone me to say mum had had a terrible dream and she thought a male member of our family was about to die. A few days later I got a message to go back to my parents home where my dad was not well. I took him to hospital and he died two days later. I still miss him 38 years later.

I have always been relieved that I don’t have that skill of ‘seeing’. Then two years ago I was on holiday and I suddenly said there is something wrong with my sister (who lives in Italy). My niece text me to say my sister had been taken into hospital suddenly. I hope this doesn’t happen again.

I suspect my son has this ability.

I think most are frauds or self-deluding.

Cossy Thu 16-Apr-26 18:22:02

So I’ve seen two different mediums in my life.

Neither knew me, I gave only my name and kept my gloves so no rings could be see .

Both were quite accurate re the info given to me.

No names, rather events, one told me about my past, the other about my presence and future.

I once worked with a girl whose daughter saw people.

In our very old house both my daughters and I have (thought) we’d seen visions of people.

I don’t know if I’m a believer either way.

Rocketstop2 Thu 16-Apr-26 18:14:30

Yes I have and was told things nobody else could know.
