Good Morning Wednesday 15th April 2026
(73 Posts)Happy Birthday, GrandMattie 🎂🎂.
Damp and dull here. Sainsbury’s delivery before nine and that’s it for the day.
Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.
This morning I have to drive 'over the Forest' to collect a lap top from DD3's house and deliver it to a friend of hers.
And I'm helping on a Carer Learning Teams session this evening.
Washing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had some overnight rain, it’s cloudy and grey but it’s warmed up to about 10°
A very Happy Birthday gMattie to you and your DGD, enjoy your special day and the cake! 🎂
Hoping all goes ok today roses, thinking of you
Today is a repeat of yesterday with volunteering this morning and then the gym etc but I’ll also be going out to a dance class this evening. A busy day but all good and enjoyable
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dull and damp Black Country, where it rained overnight.
Enjoyed the film yesterday, Song Sung Blue, but quite sad in places.
I have an appointment at Doctors Surgery at 9.30 for my yearly 'long term condition' check (Asthama). Then onto Wolverhampton to meet my DS for lunch, then onto Mums to do a food shop for her.
Happy Birthday grandMattie hope you have a lovely day
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Happy birthday 🎂 GM. We also have a double birthday - daughter and elder son were born exactly two years apart, which also happened to be my grandmother’s birthday.
It was nice to spend time with a recently widowed friend yesterday. Her OH died just before Christmas. One of her sons gave her a dog - a most beautiful dog. Some would say that wasn’t wise but it has worked beautifully and they are besotted with each other.
It is the monthly U3A lunch today which OH now organises. We are going to an Italian.
It is WI tonight and the speaker is a retired midwife. The competition is a vintage childhood item. I unearthed the silver christening bracelet my grandparents gave me over 70 years ago. I have polished it and it looks shiny and new.
Have a good day. I hope all those sick OHs are improving.
Happy birthday GN
Good morning from s somerset, dull day here, until this afternoon. Quite windy too
Optician was fine, I dread these eye tests now that I am older, so many things can go wrong with eyes. I have to go back tomorrow so that the (trainee) optometrist can have a good look through my pupils, to do that he needs to give me eye drops and I need to go on the bus. I have small eyeballs hence lifetime myopia and small pupils
Parcel expected today and during waiting time I will wipe down all the kitchen cupboard doors and baseboards. Crouching to fix my dishwasher brought those areas into focus and they need a wipe
Tender seedlings left outside in mini greenhouse last night, I keep an eagle eye on overnight temperatures and it seems safe at the moment. I sowed a lot but will make a list of actual plants that I want or I will get carried away when pricking out eg no more than 4 red cabbages for sauerkraut or braising
I am going to fill an allotment bed with waterlily dahlias, I have tubers, sitting tight until may planting. I would like cut flowers and we are encouraged to grow flowers as well as veg and fruit
Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.
Yesterday was brightened by an unexpected visit from our elder granddaughter. She’s always a joy.
Today I’m off to meet a friend. Plan to take the bus rather than park and ride. It means a longer if more interesting journey time as a road closure on the usual route brings an interesting diversion. A change of meeting place too, we’ve swapped a church cafe for M&S. Not sure how that will work. We’ll enjoy putting the world to rights.
A very happy birthday grandmattie. 🎂 🎈. I’ll be joining you next month, a very good year 😊.
Wishing you well today roses. Coincidentally a friend is having the same scan for the same reason, different hospital I would think. An automatic car sounds an excellent idea. I’ve only driven one twice but had no problem either time, if I can do it anyone can.
Best wishes to all, have the best day you can.
Get an automatic, Roses - you won’t regret it. Easy to get used to and much less to think about.
Good Morning all from a damp central south coast. Lots of puddles again so we must have had rain during the night and more showers are in the forecast.
It won't stop the intrepid DH and his chums cycling today. They have their planned route with coffee and cake followed later by lunch.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I have the cleaners here doing their stuff and need to do some desk work as well as catch up on some recorded TV programmes. Tonight it is choir and I am not really looking forward to it with all the intermittent attenders making progress difficult.
I wish you a very happy birthday grand Mattie with many more to come! I hope you manage to do something nice, just for yourself, today.

Kind thoughts of all our strugglers with worries and troubles of any kind. May the day bring some comfort and ease for us all.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very grey South Yorkshire. We are in for a wet day it seems. The weather was good here yesterday and I enjoyed the walk to school, but not the two and a half hours of sitting in the library that followed which set my hip aching again and by bedtime I was in a lot of pain. One nice thing was being presented with a belated Easter egg by one of my little readers. I was supposed to have it on the last day of term but we missed each other!
We will see how today goes as I have another two hours sitting in the library with the writers group (though the chairs are more comfortable!). It is the librarian led session so I shall have to get my brain in gear! We have to take “props” today - something small around which to form either a poem or a piece of prose.
Happy birthday, Mattie. Hope you have a lovely day!🎂💐
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from the east coast.
It’s a breezy mild day today. Hoping it stays dry for DGS coming after school.
I’ll go to the gym this morning. I haven’t been for two weeks do I don’t expect it to be easy.
Our best friend is hoping to come out of hospital today. There is nothing more they can do for him now and my friend just wants to take him home. He is struggling with visitors as he’s not up to seeing people only his own children but maybe once he’s home he will be more comfortable. My friend feels so bad that she has to keep cancelling visitors but I said it’s all about him now and his comfort and that’s all that’s important. We may not see him before we go to China and are away three weeks but he knows we love and care about him. It’s heartbreaking. My friend is worried we may not see him again.
Wishing Grandmattie a very happy birthday 💐
Many happy returns to everone celebrating a birthday today.
Thoughts to those suffering stress, worry and sadness🌺
Hoping your day has moments of joy🌼
Good morning from Sheffield
A very happy birthday to you grandMattie!
I’ve only just woken up. My osteopath gave me a proper pummelling yesterday and it wore me out. We’ll see if it has made any difference today
A full working day today. Let’s see what today brings.
I work with the public and people never fail to amuse and surprise me
Take care everyone
You’ll soon get used to driving an automatic, RosesandLilac and will enjoy how easy it is. A wise decision and I wish you luck with it with today's scan. 💐
Happy Birthday grandMattie 🎂, I hope you have a lovely day.
It’s wet here, a dreary start in south Glos and I’m not allowed my usual early morning coffee because today is PETCT scan so water only. I think my new reality is starting to dawn, enough said.
Yesterday I carried on with my decluttering and tidying, I need to start on the kitchen when I get back from the hospital later. I don’t remember when I last cleaned the kick boards 😬🫣….
Then it’s the hall and spare bedroom then I’m done for the time being, so that’s the plan for the rest of the week. There’s a charity collection booked for next Wednesday.
I spoke to the garage where I bought my car about getting a smaller one, hopefully an automatic. I’ve booked mine for a valet in two weeks then I will go to them for a chat. I do so few miles a little runaround will suit me fine, I quite fancy an automatic but have never driven one so that’s on the to do list too!
I hope you all have a good day x
Happy Birthday Grandmattie a mere youngster 🎂🥂
Good morning from Stockport.
I haven’t looked out so can’t comment on the weather.
Yesterday was quite busy again. My busy thought would seem like a day of rest to some of you, I envy you your energy, I have none.
A friend who has been quite distant for a couple of months called unexpectedly, it was if our slight difference had never happened, however as the saying goes, when somebody shows you who they are, believe them.
I had a phone conversation with the friend I see on Wednesday which further reinforced that she is getting muddled in her thinking.
She should be coming to me but asked if I will go there, saves me having to dust!!
I hope you all find some joy in today , I will settle for contentment, a blessing to me.
All quiet here in Kent. Another day ahead of not doing much although I will get in the garden for half an hour to do some tidying. I have another wretched cough.
grandMattie Happy Birthday
Good morning from a dark but dry (so far) Torbay. Yesterday was cold and wet at times and I was too tired to go to Props or do much at all.
Thank you, Bellasnana, and to those who commented kindly yesterday about the car. I have to collect it later this morning. Later I’ll drive to Wednesday Club where a Canadian member, who is an excellent speaker, will give a talk on her life in Indonesia. Her husband's job took them all over the world.
Happy birthday, grandMattie!
Happy hump day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Happy Birthday grandmattie Hope you have a lovely day
Good morning from Malta where a fine day is forecast with a high of 21°C.
Took myself out yesterday to escape the horrendous noise of the road being dug up. It is to last until 2nd May so I will have to get used to it.
The plumber called to look at my leaking loo and will come to fix it next week. It’s a fiddly job which requires taking the loo out first.
I watched tennis from Barcelona in the afternoon. They have such a relentless schedule.
I’m invited to a friends for coffee this morning. We have been friends for 45 years and it’s always good to catch up.
Your new car looks lovely Ashcombe, I wish you safe travels and happy adventures with your new wheels.
Many happy returns dear grandMattie. I hope you have a lovely day.🥳
Wishing you all some joy today ☀️
Good morning from a still quite chilly Bristol .
It’s my birthday today, I’m “only” 78. I had a very pleasant lunch with DD and the girls in a noisy local restaurant.
DGD was in a good mood, but Iris was being her difficult self again. She had braces inserted on Monday and found them uncomfortable. She was worried about what to eat. Being a very indulged fussy eater, finding something she wanted, then actually consumed took ages, then she didn’t eat it!
DD was worried about Iris and then her own next 48 hours in London, being part of the panel choosing the next bishop of Bristol. They are expected to interview the 5 applicants over the two days, and interviewing for 12 hours each day!
DGD and I share a birthday, and, at 16 today, she is having a lovely few days with her friends. She is so sweet and often tells me how much she likes having me as a “twin”, bless her.
I’m spending today at the FAB cafe, having baked two different cakes, and a Bakewell tart. I’m also sewing another three 10-pennant lengths of bunting: I think that’ll make at least some 200 pennants.
Have a good day, one and all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🎂🦩🦩🦩

Take Care,
Mick
