I have taken the liberty to open a new kitchen.

Bubbles, friendship and support in abundance xxxxx

nannytopsy what a marathon dental appointment. It sounds awful and I hope you aren’t suffering too much from the effects. From experience the fitting of the actual crown isn’t too bad and is fairly quick.
The plumber is coming tomorrow morning to service the boiler, he says he’ll be here at 8.00 so I’ll have to set the alarm clock to make sure I’m showered and dressed by the time he gets here!

Night night everyone.

Good evening, lovely Kitchen people.

Good to hear that your DGC are recovering from their injuries, Hulahoop and Grandmabatty. What a fright for them and their families!.

Jaxjacky, I've been thinking about MrSoop and Baggs too, hope they are surrounded by love and support.

Gorgeous Havianas, FGT, you'll be walking on air!

Enjoy your restful day tomorrow, brook, after your tricky journey home.

Cooler and showery here today, washing is drying indoors again...
Mass and Coffee Morning earlier, some lovely home baking and lots of chat. A lady at our table has just become a great gran so we were admiring her photos of the beautiful wee boy. Nice to share happy news.

Tomorrow I'm going to my Strength and balance class, then meeting up with my oldest friend for lunch at the golf club.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday evening and a good night's sleep.
TOYA, NNGB.

Feet looking good FGT ! I expect the tea has been made Brook.
My dentist appointment started at 12.30 today and ended at 3.30. It was hard work and I got told off because my tongue kept moving. I couldn’t help it! By the end of 90 minutes of cutting and drilling I was wrecked. Temporary crown has been installed and I go back in 6 weeks. You can guess how much I’m looking forward to that.
We have had an inch of rain in the last couple of days - good news for the water butts! It’s chilly too.
I hope you all have a good evening.

Redcar Wed 03-Jun-26 20:07:25

A wet morning here again, the water barrels are full now.
I had a quiet day, but spent the day going through piles of old papers, throwing away out of date stuff, mostly relating to items I no longer have. The shredder has been working overtime!

I like your Havaianas fgt, another lovely sunny day for you.

charleygirl I’ve had the duvet on the bed too, the nights have cooled down, and my house is cooler too now that the sun has disappeared!

brook enjoy that big cup of tea when you get home!

Best wishes to all in the quiet corner.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

Hi kitchen friends, we’re almost home. Just passed Aviemore on the A9 so about half an hour more on the bus. I’m looking forward to a nice big cup of tea when we get in
It’s been raining most of the journey from Edinburgh but I’m not complaining - everywhere looks green and lush
I’ll be having a lazy day tomorrow too grandmabatty, looking forward to it
Hope you can get a new friendly dentist Jax who can put you at ease
Hope everyone in the quiet corner is doing ok, take care all x

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Jun-26 18:39:51

Wind and rain here too Gbatty different from last week. My dental checkup was cancelled, I need to look for a new one as she’s retiring soon.
I’ve booked a podiatrist appointment, moved some money about and played with my shopping list online.
Lovely flip flops FGT
Omelettes for dinner, ice cream is a good plan afterwards Gb

Grandmabatty Wed 03-Jun-26 18:02:00

Good evening kitchen folk. Fgt such a lovely photo of a cloudless blue sky.
I have been exceptionally lazy today and have done practically nothing. Je non regrette rien. The weather has been awful, rain most of the day, wind and some lightning and thunder. I've had leftover curry for dinner and im going to have a small ice cream and pretend I'm somewhere warm. Enjoy your evening kitchen folk

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 03-Jun-26 13:18:25

Just look at this sky it’s gorgeous today as we have a soft gentle breeze most welcome!
As my dear old dad used to say “it’s not bad being poor”. 😂

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 03-Jun-26 13:11:12

Just bought new Haviana’s on the marina 😁
Much needed!
My old ones came away on my walk down I’ve had them a few years so they don’t owe me anything!
I’m sat waiting for my tuna and egg salad with lemon dressing - sipping a glass of Pinot blush wearing my new ‘feet’ and very comfy they are too a bit more cushiony than my old ones 😂

Redcar Tue 02-Jun-26 22:50:57

fgt I don’t do buzzy things of any size either, day or night! I hope you can get the ceiling fan sorted tomorrow.
Night night everyone.

Grandmabatty Tue 02-Jun-26 22:37:07

NannyTopsy the dentist said it might be discoloured but he's to go back in July. I hope your dgs is ok.
cornergran, it's been some week for him already! FGT I don't do big beasties either. Much sympathy.

Charleygirl5 Tue 02-Jun-26 22:22:15

corner I didn't realise you had encouraged the rain by having your car valeted. Nothing spectacular here, drizzle am, 10 seconds of thunder then sunshine but very dark early evening.

Tonight will be the second night I use my duvet as it is a tad chilly here.

Look after yourselves.

cornergran Tue 02-Jun-26 21:53:39

Phew fgt, hang on in there, 10 degrees cooler is not far away. It’s blowing a gale and far too chilly here.

What a week grandmab and it’s only Tuesday, I hope the rest of it is drama free. Pleased the little lad and his tooth survived intact.

A quiet, rat-free day today. Had the car valeted and anticipate rain with Sahara dust later 😂

Rest well everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 02-Jun-26 21:36:10

Bugger hanging them grandMattie I think I’ll wrap myself in them!

I’m about to spontaneously combust bc I’ve just seen the biggest wasp of my life I kid you not a mutant sized specimen - and so I’ve closed all the bluddy windows as I’m scared of big insects coming in at night now I’ve not got Himself to sort them out!

grandMattie Tue 02-Jun-26 20:40:09

Oh goodness, fgt! 37C, that’s just above body temperature!!🤒
Hang wet sheets at the windows. The evaporation will cool you down a bit…

Nannytopsy Tue 02-Jun-26 20:29:47

DGS did something similar recently Grandmabatty when he went over the handlebars of his balance bike. The tooth has survived so far but it is a bit discoloured. Hoping it will hang on until it’s time for his second teeth.
We have had nearly an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. It’s so badly needed in Suffolk so no complaints. I managed to get quite a bit of planting done yesterday @smuggranny!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 02-Jun-26 19:44:50

Evening everyone I’m melting here in Málaga as today Cesar the gardener told me the temperature went above 37°C and an amber alert has been issued. We have had the first of the teral winds - warm to hot air wafting around it’s so sticky.

We don’t have air con in this little apt and I tried switching the ceiling fan on to blow some air about but it’s not working 😮

Himself would know what to do. I will try changing the batteries in the remote but if that doesn’t work I shall just have to sit it out.

Sipping water.

Cesar told me the temperature will drop 10°C tomorrow -
good to hear.

Glad your littlest grandson is okay GrandmaBatty poor little sausage his mouth will have taken a nasty bang. Calpol tonight I expect.

Jaxjacky Tue 02-Jun-26 18:57:38

What an eventful 24 hours for him Grandmabatty, glad the tooth was saved and pleased your grandaughter is healing hulahoop.
We’ve had storms and rain today, now sun, MrJ is at bowls.
I’ve spent part of the day down the internet rabbit hole looking at items for my daughters 40th next month. Quite incredible what you can buy, I’ve resisted this far.
I wonder how Mrsoop and Baggs are, I often think of them.
Enjoy your evening all

Redcar Tue 02-Jun-26 17:26:05

grandmabatty poor little chap! I hope the dentist has sorted him out without too much pain.

hulahoop I’m pleased your granddaughter’s bite is healing and hoping that the plastic surgeons can close the open area so it doesn’t leave a scar.

We had some very welcome rain last night, one of the water butts is full and one of the buckets has about an inch of water in it. I persuaded my friend not to cut the grass this week, it needs to grow a bit before it can be cut.

Grandmabatty Tue 02-Jun-26 17:24:54

Dgs2 has escaped losing a tooth, thank goodness. The dentist had a good look and everything seems ok. Both boys are home and I've made a chicken curry which is bubbling away. Enjoy your evening kitchen folk.

hulahoop Tue 02-Jun-26 15:39:29

Sorry to read about your daughter castle it's hard when they live away.
Grandmabatty what a time you are having., hope his tooth gets sorted.

hulahoop Tue 02-Jun-26 15:25:14

Thanks for the concern regarding my granddaughter she is doing ok bite is healing just one area is still open so still having hospital visits to see plastic surgeons .
We have also left our gardens in May .It's Oh birthday today so we have been out for lunch.

Grandmabatty Tue 02-Jun-26 14:43:41

The drama continues today. The nursery phoned me that dgs2 had an accident and hit his mouth off a step. His tooth is wobbly and bleeding. I picked him up and his mummy took him to the dentist for an emergency appointment. I'm waiting for dgs1 now

Redcar Mon 01-Jun-26 22:58:30

Oh dear grandmabatty what a little monkey!
It’s raining here at last, but it’s only just started, I hope it rains all night and fills up the water barrels again.
I had a nice trip into the nearest town this morning, wandered round a few shops, bought a few things then came home.
Well done for braving the beach and the sea fgt. I hope you enjoyed the well deserved cocktail!

cornergran sorry you still have the rat problem, I hope that pest control can get it sorted out soon.

Castle25 Mon 01-Jun-26 22:58:02

grandmabatty your poor daughter. Just what you don’t need after a day at work. At that age children can be so mischievous. I’m sure she’ll eventually see the funny side.
