I have just read the sad news of our dear Soop. Baggs you’ve been a dear friend to her and the family. Please pass on my condolences to Mr Soop and the family.
Like many on here I remember all her kindnesses to me. Lovely talented lady with a big heart. Her wonderful paintings and photos. Their beloved cats. Her love for her dear man but also a wicked sense of humour as we enjoyed her occasional forays into the Argy with her baked goods.
May she ever have her kitchen as a safe place here on GN. A truly lovely lady and sad loss. 💐💕

Thank you for the kind words, everyone. It has been a hard time and sometimes I couldn't bring myself to post what soop seemed to expect me to post because it felt wrong, an intrusion into confidentiality.

What I will do later today is let MrSoop know how many kind messages there have been from "the grans" for him and the rest of soop's family.

Baggs, thank you for keeping us in touch with the Soops over these past few months, a sad task for you but testament to your enduring friendship. Thinking of you, sending my sincere condolences. 💐🕯️

I’m so very sad to hear that our lovely Soop has died. Thank you Bags, another sad time for you. My condolences to you and to dear McSporren.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news of our dear Soop. What a lovely, generous lady, she will be sadly missed. She painted a beautiful portrait of our beloved Granddog which just captured his spirit perfectly. I treasure our PMs and her kindness to me when DH died. May she rest in peace, and may her devoted MrSoop and family find some comfort in memories of happy times. 💐🕯️.

I've not been on GN for a few days, very busy hosting and now travelling with our Australian cousins. We're in sunny St Andrew's at the moment.

Just read this sad news of the passing of our beloved Soop and it has cast a pall over the sunshine here. Thank you Baggs for letting us all know and sincere condolences to you for the loss of your dear friend. Of course also to Mr Soop and all their family. She has left a lasting legacy here and elsewhere. RIP dear Soop.

I’m so sorry to hear that soop has died, such a gracious and generous lady who will be missed by more people than we can imagine. I have a lovely watercolour of my rescue dog Annie that she sent me.

So sorry to read the sad news about Soop who came across as a thorougly lovely person. Her initiative in starting a gentle, supportive thread will be her legacy where I'm sure her spirit will live on. A very well thought of member of GN who will be sorely missed RIP

Sad news about a lovely and kind Soop. Condolences to Mr Soop and family. Soop gave me a very warm welcome when I joined the kitchen on my way through to the quiet room.

This was the news I had been dreading for some weeks now. Inevitable though it was I am so sad that the kindness and love that was Soop is no more. She touched all of our lives in so many ways and made the kitchen a haven for all who needed it....and that will endure...how could it not.
Rest in peace dear Soop and may the memories of the love you shared with Mr Soop and your family comfort them in the days to come. ♥️♥️

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about soop. She was a very talented artist and a very caring lady.
I had the pleasure of meeting her back in 2012 and still have the bookmark made from our group photograph.

What sad news. My condolences to all who loved her. I, too, have had such kindness from dearest Soop over the years. We never met but she’s still a kind friend who I shall dearly miss as we kept in touch until a few weeks ago. Her lovely paintings of my late dogs and cat will have a more poignant meaning now. Rest in Peace lovely lady, your darling Mr Soop is going to be bereft. I’m so, so sorry.😞
