Oh well done Jaxjacky!
Good Morning Friday 17th July 2026
Hope nobody minds me opening a new kitchen.
Cake, Tea & Fizz on the side š°š¾š«
Oh well done Jaxjacky!
Well done jax, good that the sun was shining for you.
Weāve been under grey cloud and mist all day today, chilly too, quite a change from yesterdayās sun. I managed a bit more weeding today but progress is pitifully slow. The violets are pretty so I think Iāll leave them this year instead of trying to pull them out as I usually do.
blossoming I hope your blood tests are satisfactory, well done for your walk too.
Enjoy the rest of the evening folks.
Thatās an achievement jax. Well done you.
Good to see you fgt, another here wishing her nails were suitable for a manicure. Mine are best suited to gloves!
Weāve had a super, sunny day today and decided to make it a holiday-day. A walk on the beach at a virtually empty bay, coffee with friends temporarily living there. A snack lunch in town followed by a visit to the pier before home to do very little. Did us both good.
Feet up time here now. Have a good evening everyone.
Evening All
Iāve not long been home as I went to watch our Lāil Miss (9 last month and not so little Y4 with such long legs they grow like weeds at this age do t they?) at her swimming lesson.
It amazed me how sheād come on I. The months since I last saw her swim months ago. Sheās so neat and contained! Not a splasher. Himself called her our little mermaid š
I also treated myself to a pedicure this afternoon I donāt know myself tonight!
I even booked in for Tuesday lunchtime to treat myself to brows and lash tint.
I looked so careworn and tired so I decided to lift my morale with the āBecause Iām worth itā mantra. š
Well done, Jaxjacky! That will have lifted your spirits and done you a power of good, as my lovely Mum would have said.
Welcome back, FGT, I'm sure Himself approves of your manicure. I bought myself a smart purple wool coat just before Christmas and told my AC it was my present from their Dad. ā¤ļø One day at a time, lovely lady. š
Lots of appointments, hoping and praying for the best possible outcomes YiaYia. I'm thinking of you and your DH. Fingers crossed š¤ for Friday. Thank you for your kind wishes.
Stunning photos brook, what a perfect day for sightseeing.
Grandmabatty, put that happy time with your wee boys into your store of special memories, it sounds just lovely. šš
Grannygravy, I love a fish finger sandwich with salad! Have you tried the chunky ones? Great on a wholemeal pitta bread.
Bedwars sounds familiar, Nannytopsy! At her last sleepover, DGD decided that she was too grown up to sleep in the wee room with the bunkbeds and moved herself into the more upmarket guest room!
Hope you can get into your garden before your appointment.
You've been busy, Redcar, take care with your back.
Hello š Neine, good to see you. I hope you and your DH are doing OK.
Lovely Spring photos, Blossoming and Ladyleftfieldlover, thank you.
I've had a busy day, took my friend to Mass and Coffee Morning, strained my arm a bit putting the wheelchair into the car, I'll need to be careful. Later I had lunch at the local golf club with my childhood friend. We used to walk to Primary school together, today we were talking about Swedish Death Cleaning and planning our funerals... where does the time go?
When I came home I made the most of the sunshine ā and swept up leaves and moss from the front garden. Then I sat on the summer seat with my crossword for the first time this year. Felt better for it. I've made a pot of lentil soup too.
Time to relax with the TV šŗ, I'm watching The Capture with Holliday Grainger, I think I watched some of it during lockdown but can't remember much about it.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday evening and a good night's sleep. Thinking especially of our dear Soops, and all with illness, worries or sorrow. ššÆ
TOYA, NNGB.
Yes itās been a cold grey day here too Redcar, not far from you. I have done some moving and shaking in the garden today and taken my tally of sycamore seedlings this week to 260 so far. And that is what I can reach without going onto the flower beds. I have just realised that my washing is still out on the line and the shed is unlocked. š”
We are doing the Kent end of day pick up, tea and bedtime tomorrow for DGS2 and DGD2, after an optician appointment in the morning. Itās mostly for a scan to check a retina problem. I donāt think new specs are needed.
Iām glad you have realised you are worth it FGT. š¹
Have a good evening.
Oh well done Jax thatās very good progress, a bit more day by day š
Youāre definitely worth it Fgt, Iām sure Himself would approve ā¤ļø
Good to hear youāve made the most of the sunshine today Grannmarie but be careful with your arm and the heavy wheelchair!
Iām just home from line dancing and ready for bed now with a cuppa
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
A somewhat stressful day today with a better ending.
The money I was expecting took a while to arrive in our account and the car wouldnāt charge.
Both problems were resolved by mid afternoon when DS rang to finalise the arrangements for his visit with the children at the weekend.
He also told me that DD and her DH were coming too - she hadnāt thought to inform me!
Of course you are worth it FGT. I sense the months of stress and anxiety have been replaced with relief and sadness. You must do whatever you can to help yourself. Himself would have wanted it so.
Well done Jax you will soon be out and about.
Thoughts with the soops.
Sleep well every one.
āRelief & sadnessā describes my situation so well dragonfly
Itās been such a difficult time for you fgt you definitely deserve all the pampering now.
grannmarie Iām trying to pace myself with a little gardening then rest to save my back. Iāve done enough for this week, Iāll be resting at DD1s tomorrow keeping the dog company while DD and her DH are in the office. Iāll have the granddaughters on their return from school, but at 11 and 7 theyāre not much trouble.
nannytopsy I have sycamore trees further down my road but fortunately their seeds donāt reach my garden! Their leaves end up in my front garden though.
Night night everyone, sleep well.
Yia how well Spiros has settled in your life.
Molly was a great tree climber when she first went out.
I used to have my heart in my mouth thinking she would never get down again, of course she did. Now although only 7 she is a lazy home cat and hardly goes out.
I hope your H gets positive results soon, waiting is awful as many of us have experienced .
FGT keep posting and keep accepting all invitations it is good advice.
I am waiting for a phone call from my GP surgery, I sent an econsult just before lunch, minor problem really but needs sorting, I think so many of my generation put up with things, I am changing.
A nice day again here temperature of 17, not bad for March.
Enjoy your day everyone.
yiayia I hope your DH gets his results soon and I hope your cataract operation goes well tomorrow.
A lovely sunny day here and warm in the sun. Iām at DD1ās with the dog, I would have sat outside for a while, but couldnāt be bothered to unlock the garage, struggle with the cushions for the garden chair and move it into the sun! I donāt have such nice garden furniture at home, but itās comfortable enough.
The DGDs came home from school but have now gone to Tescoās with DD2.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
Hoping all goes well for you tomorrow Yia and your DH gets his results soon. Gorgeous picture of Spiros šāā¬
Itās been a grey miserable day here, we didnāt really get much of a walk in and no gardening either. But I have been decluttering and throwing rubbishy things out š
Hoping the GP has been in touch now Uttb and everythingās ok
Hoping everyone in the quiet corner is doing ok x
Best wishes for tomorrow Yia I could waste hours watching Spiros!
Our sunny day is now cloud, just a driveway wander for me today and a forty minute shut eye, unthought of a few months ago.
I hope youāve heard back utbb.
Good luck tomorrow for your cataract surgery Yia and your dh results.
I had a lovely afternoon using pastels and blethering.
Spiro is the image of our late cat China. He came before Milo and Ripley who are nearly 16.
We had lunch out today at a nearby pottery. Afterwards I did a bit of essential shopping in the wonderful shop. I was captivated (amongst other things!) by a box of marzipan, strawberry and champagne chocolates with 10% off. Apparently when thereās only one box left, no one wants them! Well I did and we will eat them at Easter.
Have a good rest of the day, especially those of you with heart ache and worries, š¹
āEvening Allā
A sunny day here in Urmston especially this morning when I went out for a walk with a takeaway coffee in hand.
The afternoon was productive I kept myself busy anyway which was good, then had a late shower and hairwash.
Strange to think the world is my oyster now (well ~ funds allowing) and I can go where I want when I want. Strange times, no longer being tethered to the apartmentā¦.
Iām very grateful to be free of the daily worry, however small things can ambush me and then I just cry. Itās early days.
Indeed as you say FGT it is indeed early days. One step in front of the other and a day at a time - slow progress indeed but we are all right behind you to help pick you up when you fall.
Talking of falling my DH has fallen twice recently trying to do things he cannot manage. I get so cross with him even though I know it doesnāt help.
I was overjoyed today knowing my whole little family will be together tomorrow.
It is lovely that my DD is being so supportive to her brother.
I hope your DH gets his results soon Yia;we have been in the same position many times and I am thinking of you.
Sleep tight everyone, thinking especially of soop our wonderful matriarch.
The small people were delightful this afternoon and went to bed with no trouble. Phew! We will stay here tonight and go home tomorrow, ready for DHās sister to arrive in the evening. She is coming to spend her birthday weekend with us.
Early days FGT, but being able to get out in the sunshine and fresh air will always help.
I hope you have had good evenings and sleep well.
Early days to be sure fgt, just be as you are and need to be.
Waiting for results is always a tense time. Hope your husbands come soon. yia. Good luck with the cataract.
We had the same feeling last weekend dragonfly. Thereās something very special about the family being together, no matter the reason. Our granddaughters grandma is on end of life care, itās hard for them. It meant so much to be able to give them a hug and see them laugh with the rest of the family.
Mr C fell in the living room recently, afraid he looked so funny, think a stranded crab, that I laughed before fretting in case heād hurt himself. He was fine, so then I was cross. As he said inside his head he is a lot younger than his body and his head encourages foolishness. Hmm.
Itās not been sunny here today. I was more than disappointed. Some glimmers first thing were soon covered in cloud which lasted all day. Same tomorrow with the potential addition of some Sahara sand rain. Hope it holds off until weāve carted some concrete from old fence posts to the tip. Weāve a booking system now which means no queueing and we can stop next to the relevant container so no carrying either. Itās not much fun in the rain though.
Night night everyone. Sleep tight.
Thinking of you today Yia and hoping all goes well. Fingers crossed your DH results come soon...and yours too UTBB.
Hope your second op has gone well Yia and your vision soon settles down. Coincidentally, I have a friend in Greece who looks after and occasionally rescues stray cats. I love watching his video messages. FGT2 big hug from me
. Jax we are having MrJās special tonight, sausage mash and beans!
TOYA xx
Iām sure it will be delicious Blossoming!
A wet afternoon, so no ventures out, extra up and down stairs twice, itās been cooler too. (Summer quiltās fault).
Tesco delivered, everything requested, I have leftovers for dinner, MrJ some of the curry bubbling away in the slow cooker.
Please continue embracing life as himself said FGT heād definitely approve.
Have a gentle evening all.
Hi kitchen pals itās been a beautiful sunny day here in Inverness, itās still a bit cold but lovely in the sunshine
I had a wander around the garden earlier, so pleased to see lots of green shoots and buds on various plants. Theyāre slow growing but at least the signs are there
Hope you enjoyed your dinner Blossoming, we had a chicken biryani here, it was ok but a bit dry.
Weāve got an in between duvet Jax for spring and autumn, I might be brave and get it out next week - will see. We did open up the conservatory today too, itās closed doors throughout the winter but today it was good to let the sunshine in
Hoping Yiaās op has gone ok today
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
