I have read rumours that Alan Carr may be one of the new hosts for Strictly, Please NO

Momac55 Tue 04-Nov-25 14:49:22

No way will I watch it ever again if Amanda Holden joins, no way if Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton join either

I always liked Darcy Bussell as a judge back in the day. Pity they wouldn’t entice her back to judge and give Anton the presenter’s job with maybe Zoe Ball.

Love Alan Carr and I think he'd be brilliant on Strictly. Not Amanda Holden though. Not keen on Zoe Ball or Holly Willoughby either so it looks like I might be disappointed. I do think La Voix could be good.

Rylan for me for certain

I just don't bother with Strictly any more. I hardly know anyone and certainly don't think of "influencers" as celebrities. I'd sooner see the general public dance.

That’s more or less my point of view too. The most excitement I get is finding out who’s been ousted on the strictly spoiler, then reading the comments of “oh no, the wrong person went” or criticisms of the judges.

Whoever presents Strictly I just wish it would calm down a little.
The hysterical screeching and OTT behaviour is beginning to get on my nerves.

All that screeching and screaming drives me nuts. I record it and then just fast forward to watch the actual performance and not the hysterics.

Can't watch Strictly! Too formulaic, loud and sequiny.

Feel it has run its course - but hard to stop now it is such a money machine.

Oh dear, Strictly is taking a battering on this thread. I’m enjoying it every weekend and will continue to watch it. Both my granddaughters age 11 and 19 love it. They live 140 miles apart but we love watching it together on a Saturday evening with our group WhatsApp chat open. We chat about each dance during the show, discuss the outfits etc.

I’m going to slink off to the main Strictly fans thread now and not hear another word against it 😆

I stopped watching it a few years ago. Never the same after Bruce left. I cannot stand silly gurning Claudia. They should have had a male replacement. I am not interested in watching men dancing together, and no I am not bothered if someone is gay or not, but they could still dance with a female partner. I like Susan Calman and she got to dance with her dream partner who is Kevin Clifton, so she wasn't bothered.

Peaseblossom Tue 04-Nov-25 18:19:15

Not two women should be man and woman. Can't bear gurning Claudia. Silly moo.

Kandinsky Tue 04-Nov-25 18:23:58

It should be a man & a woman presenting but I doubt it will be. Ballroom dancing should be a man dancing with a woman, not two men or two women dancing together.

It's ok - I'm with you. I think it's considered on trend right now to be sneering and critical about Strictly!

Quite frankly, I wouldn't waste my energy coming on to a thread in which I have no interest and then telling people that I don't. As if it's some kind of cultural badge of honour. What's the point?

It's a bit of fluffy glitz and glam - and frequently some great dancing - to lighten the gloomy Saturday evenings.

Count me in please!

I have heard that Holly Willoughby will be taking over from one of the current presenters.

That’ll count me out then! She is as irritating as it gets!

Agreed! Amanda Holden would be dreadful,

petalpete Tue 04-Nov-25 18:49:21

Quite agree, The past 2 years have gotten worse. I actually watch it less because of this, ridiculous, children in playgrounds are behaving better than this.

FranA Tue 04-Nov-25 19:18:48

I only watch for the dancing. I don’t listen to the presenters or even the judges now. I love the professional dancer routines. So more dancing and less trivial chat would suit me. Although LaVoix and Miranda Hart as presenters could be quite a hoot and a bit of new blood.

Dempie55 Tue 04-Nov-25 20:06:20

Ha ha- today I read it was going to be Bradley Walsh and Holly Willoughby!

Sara1954 Tue 04-Nov-25 20:13:17

Personally I feel that the new presenters shouldn’t be dancers, practically everyone suggested so far, apart from Zoe Ball, who I think is quite warm would definitely make me permanently turn off
I want to love it, but I’m just not feeling it anymore.
The only person I had heard of was Paul Robinson , why if it’s such a flagship programme, can they only get C listers that no one has heard of?

TwiceAsNice Tue 04-Nov-25 20:29:43

No to Alan Carr and Holly can’t stand either of them. I don’t know who I want really just not them!

Claudia is head and shoulders above them all 😄

I would give my left leg for Claudia's hair.

grannybuy Tue 04-Nov-25 20:43:03

I saw a mention of Alison Hammond being considered. Wouldn’t be my choice.

ExDancer Tue 04-Nov-25 20:49:22

Oh I do agree merlotgran its excruciatingly embarrassing! And that silly wiggeling girating when they're first introduced makes me cringe.
Pointless, and adds nothing to the show
