Any plans from about 12 today were scuppered by an upset tum, settled now, an unusual event for me but my lunch pal yesterday has had the same.
Never mind, an excuse to sit about and ‘not do much at all’.
Boiled eggs tonight seem a safe bet! I’ll cook for MrJ, something easy.

cornergran sad news at the end of your pleasant few days away. jaxjacky I think my godmother has always nurtured (not sure if that’s the right word) her friends rather than her family, which I’m used to, but my DDs find hard to accept. Families!!

I’ve not done a lot today, yoga yesterday and walking around with just one walking stick have made my spine very uncomfortable so I’m doing the bare minimum today.
My next door neighbour has just discovered that the huge shrubs that are overhanging my garden aren’t mine .at all. All the trunks and roots are in his garden! He wondered why I wasn’t cutting them down. He’s spent most of today attacking them, which has made his garden a lot lighter.

I know we’re not going to get the worst of storm Amy but I’be moved my garden chairs to a more sheltered place in the garden. I need to cover the table and put the chairs away, but can’t do it today. Hopefully one of the DDs or their OHs will help at the weekend. I hope those of you in the area with an Amber weather warning stay safe.

I am a bit achey after attending Aquafit and Strength and Balance classes this morning. Hats off to our brook, doing two classes often! So I'm having a cup of tea and two paracetamol before heading out for my hair and nails appointments later this afternoon.

Good afternoon all.
I just need a little moan which I can’t do to family.
I do know many are much worse of than me but as Isay frequently to others that doesn’t take my frustrations away.
My GS 16 now living with me and his father is going down with his mental health problems and it is tearing us apart.
He is struggling so much and although help for him is in the pipeline it is slow and frankly not enough.
He has had to be coaxed, forced , blackmailed into going to school which is totally unsuitable for him .
It is breaking our hearts.
I have had to lie to my difficult friend as to why I won’t be seeing her today as she is “ under so much stress over her CH boiler needing a new pump” she feels ill with it all.
I just couldn’t face it for the 3rd week, and it is now fixed but she still told me for 20 mins on the phone this morning just how dreadful it has been.
She just brings me down.
There I have ranted, I don’t feel any better but I have said it.
In the midst of all this I am trying to get a few bits together for two nights away in Nottingham with my friend across the road.
I just wish I could go with an easy mind and enjoy it without worrying about it all the time.
Sorryto go on and on but it is all I can think about and the tears won’t stop.

Just wanted to give a word of encouragement. What you describe is my grandson at 16. He hated school every minute of it.
Now 22 he has had 3 successful years at college and is working. He is a completely different character to the young lad so stressed by school.
I wish you luck and hope things improve for you all

Corner I'm sorry for the loss of your friends. It hits hard. Blossoming that sounds like a lovely visit from Mr B.
I went to bed early. I was exhausted after the boys. They weren't badly behaved but the procedures yesterday have taken it out of me. I've had a cuppa and a biscuit and taken two paracetamol. I'm thinking of you all.

I’m sorry utbb, it’s one thing after another for you.

It feels a bit like that here too. We’re home tomorrow after a few days away, a beautiful view over water had eased life away. Until yesterday that is when a message came from a younger friend to tell us her very frail dad had followed her mum and died. They have been our friends for 39 years, a double grief. They will share a funeral and it’s a comfort to know they will be together. Neither wanted to leave the other. They haven’t.

We were actually on the water when the message came through. It felt appropriate as our friend was very fond of sea views. It has squashed us a bit though and had me preoccupied with responding to messages from their daughter, we’re close. We’re heading home tomorrow not quite as rested as we had hoped while still being pleased we came.

I’ll head back to the quiet corner for a while where I will think of you all.

Hello kitchen people.

I’m so sorry to read about your grandson UTBB. Hopefully there will be help before too long.

OH and I had a good day out. The Pottery first where we admired the beautiful gardens. Then lunch - quiche and salad, and fish cake and salad. A pot of tea to finish and a slice of Victoria sponge. They have such a good shop and I was tempted by a notebook, wrapping paper and a couple of birthday cards. We then drove to a local garden centre. We bought Iris and snowdrop bulbs, gloves for OH, and feed for the rhododendron.

We are now home and wondering what to have for dinner. I may just have a bowl of cereal.

Most mental care services support takes so long utbb, we know from experience, poor lad, it’s so hard as you watch on incapable of hurrying it up.
Experience has made you rightly wary Redcar, maybe your daughters could step up a little, or don't understand the history.
It took ages for the cloud to lift today, quite dull this morning, my friend and I went out for an enjoyable lunch, then called in the farm shop. I also borrowed library books to read, I always have a book on the go.
MrJ is cooking his dinner, Im not real hungry after my lunch out, but I’ve boiled eggs for tomorrow’s lunch.

Oh Uttb my heart goes out to you and your lovely grandson, I wish I could make it better for you and for him. Such a difficult situation for you utbb. I’m so sorry that your GS isn’t able to access the help he needs,
fgt good you were able to see your stepfather on his birthday and how sweet of the bank cashier to draw him a picture.
I’ve been with my godmother this afternoon, she was in good spirits but frustrated that she’s not allowed out of bed (for her own safety as she is too weak to stand). She won’t be discharged for a while but seems accepting of that. My DDs want me to become more involved in her life, but I’ve done that in the past and been rebuffed so am not keen to do it again. Sorry to moan! I probably seem a hard hearted old bat!
Yoga this morning was hard work, hope it’s doing me some good and it was nice to meet some new people. It was drizzling when I came out of the hall, that wasn’t forecast, it was supposed to be sunny!

Oh uttb family angst of any kind pulls loving family members down. It will be on your mind constantly, the worry about your darling grandson. When we are like that we ‘can’t see straight’ so no wonder a broken boiler (entirely fixable in time) irritates you. “I wish that was the extent of my anxiety” you’ll be thinking. 💐

I’ve just been to see my stepfather it’s his 93rd birthday this week. I took cards from us all and presents.

I also take him groceries from our ‘larder’ downstairs. And every week I call in the bank to withdraw the cash he requests. I get it from our account and then he gives me a cheque for that plus the cost of his shopping.

One particular bank teller has gotten to know me quite well over these last few months. She asked after my stepfather (who also banks with them) and when I told her it was his birthday, she drew this ◀️ and passed it to me with his money. How nice was that? My stepfather grinned when I passed it to him.
