Last night to housewarming of long standing soprano friend. Aided by my sat nag, what a boon for new places!

I took a tall marguerite in a pot and we had a glass of Prosecco and a chilli con carne. The new build house looking very smart and fresh unlike my own shabby chic (well shabby, let’s face it😁).
Just house stuff today and thoughts to Gingster FGT and it sounds like a night to remember Rosiesmaw🌺

Good morning from Aberdeen. My sister is out with her lovely wee dog, she likes to go her morning walk on her own and that suits me perfectly! When she returns we’ll have breakfast and then head to Peterhead and a tour of the old Prison. I was somewhat surprised at this plan but she assures me it’s supposed to be very interesting! I shall report back.

Thoughts very much with the FGT2s today, Himself sounds an exceptional man.

I hope you and your DH stay well and really enjoy your much delayed cruise Ash, you’ve had such a difficult time recently.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a much brighter sunny morning but still quite chilly.

A much better start to today after my "mardy" morning yesterday. It took me until late afternoon to get caught up with jobs and into a better frame of mind, but was pleased to check out at the bank and no problems so that was sorted, risked putting washing out even though it looked very grey and then it started to spot with rain, but then held off and I managed to get all my towels dried outside and they are so much nicer fluffed up and smelling sweet, so that was a small triumph, and I ended the day by going to the whist drive, where I won nothing but had a good evening.

It started with a little bit of a drama as a whole group of usual players come down from the Hartlepool area. They share cars and are usually here promptly. We didnt start on time as we waited for them a little and then decided to begin. Then got a phone call from someone and there had been a major crash on the A19 with air ambulance and police etc, so long diversions on small country roads but they finally arrived and a pleasant evening had by all. No doubt today we shall hear on the local news more of the crash.

So, now here I am with the washing machine trundling away, Alison Balson - a very good trumpet player- playing the lovely Hummel concerto on radio 3 . Outside a few more leaves appearing on the tree but no sign of the squirrel or birds yet. Rubbish night and did not like the alarm call of awful cramp in my leg, so having to be cautious about moving round as it is slightly there still and can easily get me again with one false move.

Today being more positive , I am going to do battle with the flipping railcard issue again I hope and later intend to be encouraged by nice clean bed to make some efforts on the domestic front. But if it stays lovely and sunny shall be much more tempted to enjoy the weather and get out on the yellow peril. Not gadding out anywhere tonight so can catch up then and hope to watch a bit of the snooker. All of which should help me Not to think about tomorrows dentist appointment!

grandMattie Men like that driver are absolutely infuriating, I agree. Hope you had some vegetables to chop up or went out in the garden and snipped away with secateurs - that is my way to let off steam with such people! But you have got rid of the bed so that is something good.
Ashcombe hope you have a great holiday. Is that the Fred Olsen BALMORAL , have been on her, if so. The staff were all very pleasant and the food good. As I dont sleep well I used to be quietly padding up tot he observation deck with my binoculars at about 5.30am with a coffee, and used to enjoy that particularly.
Sar53 Very glad to hear you have seen someone about your eye and hope that it clears up soon. Enjoy that new car smell and touch as you come home in it. It will soon become just your car and you will be driving it with no problem.
Rosie What a wonderful occasion for you. I am glad (and a little envious of you) you had a great time and it will be a wonderful memory for the rest of your life.
Marydoll you will enjoy having babydoll for the day , hope you can snatch a little rest at some point. Hope the oral surgeon can help you soon. As you say that receptionist sounds like the sister to the driver. I can just imagine them at the job interview. Oh yes the previous person was much too courteous and pleasant. I think your rude boorish dragon like behaviour will suit us much more and really upset as many patients as possible!!

I had 'one of those nights' last night with less than 4 hours' sleep and I'm feeling as if I'm not firing on many cylinders. But off to tai chi I must go. I had already decided that we're going to have a back to basics day, so I hope that's not too onerous for my frazzled brain!

Good morning from a very grey midlands.
Signed off at the hospital yesterday. The headache is drifting away and they advise taking two paracetamols every four hours. If it comes back then I’m back to the drs. I think it’s raised blood pressure with anxiety and stress but I’m no expert. I’m going to try and get some counselling for my mental health. I’m trying to be positive and setting myself little goals.
I did get a shock because I discovered that my old boss had died last year. She was only 63. Alcohol poisoning. She drank at work. So sad.
A day of shopping and making a baby blanket for a friend.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a beautiful sunny start o our day. 17°C is forecast. Thank you SO much for your lovely messages of support for us today. It means a lot, having a virtual handhold. We slept well. I’m nervous this morning. Himself just said “we are going to see where I’m at but we know that if more chemotherapy is indicated today, I’ve been told there’s an evidence based drug that I can go on.” He is so brave you know and mentally very positive. I do my best to stay upbeat. We set off with my wonderful brother in law just before noon. He’s been just amazing for us to lean on this past two years, taking us to every single scan, blood test, treatment and clinic appointment. He drops us at the door then drives off to park up and always says just the right thing. Takes Himself’s mind off events on the way too, chatting about the football or whatever. A star indeed when I think of all the hours he’s put into this. We are so very grateful.

I am still without a car but I shall take 2 buses to Hawick today for the opening exhibition of their town centre renovation project which some friends have been involved with.

I found that my surgery had sent my repeat prescription to the wrong pharmacy, after several wasted attempts to collect it. The receptionist didn't even apologise!

I attended the AGM for the community project with which I volunteer and have been asked if my garden will host the garden party yet again this June. I hope the weather complies.

I am constantly asked about my house selling/buying plans but never offered real help until yesterday. One friend is coming next week and has offered to be my back up when dealing with lawyers and potential purchaser etc. I cried. She usually helps me with my knitting!

I hope your sensible dentist's opinion will have a knock-on effect and the referrals will happen soon Marydoll

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day and I got out and mowed the lawn in the morning, it had put a spurt of growth on in the last few days. The foliage from the snowdrops and crocuses is only starting to die down so had to be left.
Later, I had a look through my t-shirts again and culled....one!
The others are quite OK for general wear this summer so I'll have a big clear out in a few weeks....maybe.
Today, it's into town for various errands and I'll treat myself to coffee.
This afternoon I must deal with my runner beans. They are not hardened off yet but growing like the clappers and looking for more substantial supports. Shall I risk it and put them out permanently? Probably not. I'll think of something.

I'm impressed by your trainer repairs karmalady. Whilst I hate waste, I would have chucked them, I wouldn't have known how to do what you did anyway.

Decent day yesterday. The morning went quickly with our friends. While we were chatting a change was made to a corner of our garden to make it more manageable which has delighted me, as did the very reasonable cost. We ventured to shops in the afternoon where I was equally delighted to find two tops I had given up on finding.

Charity shop run this morning before Mr C decides to hang on to his contribution, maybe a coffee, some reorganising in the garden and an admin list for this afternoon which hopefully I’ll achieve after just three hours sleep.

Thinking of all facing challenges today and wishing travellers trouble free journeys.

I was remiss in not wishing *FGTs dear man all the best for today.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Suffolk. I’ve got my stretch class soon and then lunch with one of my old business partners. We worked together for over 30 years and knew each other’s families well,especially the children from youngsters till now.

I had a lovely lunch with my dear friend yesterday but a strange thing happened with my car which has happened once only before and when she was a passenger. As I picked her up,the car clock said 11.50 and when we arrived at the village for lunch it still said the same time. Although Icould turn off the engine the radio came on and wouldn’t turn off.

I was worried that leaving it on might drain the battery so I popped into the tiny garage in the village and was reassured by the man there that it wouldn’t but if I was worried I could pop the car round and he would have a look. I decided to go for lunch and,if it was still odd afterwards,I’d call into the garage in our nearest town on my way home. I bought it from there and they service it.

When we got back into the car,the radio was off and the clock said the correct time, having made up the 40 mins it had been off on the journey down! I can’t think of any explanation other that there is some kind of magnetism between my friend and I that causes this! My grandfather and DH’s father couldn’t wear a wristwatch because of their internal magnetism they were both told.

Hope those with worries,ill health or caring for others have a positive day and those on holiday have a lovely one.

Early start as hairdresser is due at 9.30, followed by the U3A book group at 10.30. Yesterday didn’t quite go to plan as the plumber failed to show (now booked for Friday) though the oven cleaner did a fantastic job, so good that I don’t want to cook ever again. Printer trouble wasted a couple of hours and is still not solved so an expensive visit will be needed. There is always something!

Good morning everyone, we’re in London and it’s a cloudy start to the day
We’re staying near Paddington Station, it’s a pretty area near Little Venice with lots of canal boats and eateries. We met up with DS and his partner yesterday and all enjoyed a meal in one of the waterside restaurants last night. It was good to see them both and catch up on all their news. Today we’re browsing around, going for a posh afternoon tea somewhere and then they fly back to Basel tonight.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

It is my Book Group today. We meet in the local cafe over lunchtime. The theme this month is books with a seaside setting. I will talk about Persuasion by Jane Austen and the French Lieutenants Woman by John Fowles. Both coincidentally set in Lyme Regis. We will also talk about other books we’ve read.

Elder son and his family are back from Italy today so I will order flowers for son’s partner whose special birthday it was last week.
