Talking of staying put, who else remembers when Cheddar Gorge Man’s DNA was taken? He apparently dates back around 9000 years, IIRC, and once the scientists had his DNA, they asked people living within a certain radius to come forward - if their grandparents had also always lived there.
Because apparently, if your grandparents were born, bred and settled in an area, there’s a likelihood that their ancestors were too, even way back.
They did find one person whose DNA matched Cheddar Gorge man, a local teacher, who said, ‘My wife always did say I was a bit of a cave man.’ 😂
