Rank taste from tap water

Read your post whilst watching Watercolour Challenge from your part of the World !

And very pretty too .

I thought that green algae was dangerous or is that blue algae ?
My water supply stinks of rotten eggs so I boil it and add disinfectant to the washing .

I don't know if that helps .

There’s more than a problem with green algae
There has been illegal dumping in Lough Neagh for years.
And it goes to the highest levels in government.
There is a long running program on Radio 4 about it.

I live in Co Armagh, we get our water from Lough Neagh , there are many problems with the horrible green algae , the latest here is that the tap water here is rank it tastes mouldy!!
Can any one recommend a filter jug that cleans it up
We are told the water is safe , but it’s very unpleasant , I’m buying bottled water just now , but that’s very environmentally unfriendly
