Bein a grandma

Deathly afraid seems to be overstating things a bit Jvaldez continue like this and you are in danger of making this a self fullfilling prophesy.
Enjoy and love your granddaughter that's all she needs. Spend quality time together as others have said. Be grateful she has people who love her, many children are not so lucky.

Children are not that shallow.

She will probably prefer one grandmother over the other when she is older, most people do, but you cannot control which one.

Sound advice here , relax and enjoy your GD. She won't care how much money you have or don't have,! She knows you love her.

This is a great piece of advice. It's how I feel about love. There is an abundance of love that knows no bounds. Enjoy it and share it.

Love hasn't got anything to do with money. As the Beetles said ; 'Money can't buy you love' - and children know when they are loved. Find things to do with your granddaughter that her other grandparents do not do, not as competition, but so that she has things she does, places she goes, that are special to each of you.

Whenever my 15 year old grandson comes to stay I still read him a bedtime story. It is the same book every time, a pop-up book about a haunted house that belonged to his father when he was small, now it is a bit of a joke, but I do the voices and he acts scared. This is special between us and hasn't cost me a penny.

Perhaps you can teach her to sew, or to cook, or foster a love of flowers or insects, or always go for a walk to the park.

Just spend time with her, listen to her, talk to her and soon your relationship will be special for what you can do with her

Please don't let your anxiety and worry spoil your experience with your Grandchild. You really don't have to, as it won't happen.

Don’t put pressure on yourself in this way. The right thing for your GD is to have as much love in her life as possible. Just be content to be loved by her and pleased that she loves others too. Think of things that you can do with her that she will associate with you. Cooking maybe or gardening or particular card or board games. Treasure hunts, hide and seek, simple outings to a cafe, the library or park. Just relax and all will be well. You have a lot to give.

Don't try and compete with the other grandma, just continue being someone she can have fun with. Happy memories of you as a person will be just as important as fancy holidays.

Jvaldez1 children have no idea about costs. They love people who love them and pay attention.

Please don't spoil this precious time with jealousy - it will suck all your joy away.
Grandparenting is not a competitive sport. You be you - you have no control over the other grandparents.

It's not a competition, if you love her she will know. If you have fun when you are together, that's what she will remember. Enjoy your times with her and never mind about the other grandparents! 🙂
