Seems a bit harsh? All that way too. He landed in the UK a few hours ago. Without Meghan and the children.
From the Telegraph just now:
“ The Duke of Sussex will not meet the King this week, the Telegraph can reveal.
Prince Harry, 39, landed in London on Tuesday morning and had made no secret of his hopes to see his father during his visit.
But a spokesperson for the Duke said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.
“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
I just think if the King doesn't ’find time’ to see his son then Harry might well just think ‘sod it’ next time/if he comes over.
I know Harry bad mouthed the family in his book ‘Spare’ but still …
It’s true, family relations in the royal family are different to most of us. They spend so much time apart, boarding schools, army etc., probably meeting just for conferences on “the firm” or official occasions. Add on to that betrayal and family illness, it’s probably no big deal to not meet up.

Not all of us spend 24/7 together and why would spending time apart due to work, boarding school etc make family ties any less loving and strong?
The RF have a history of holding grudges and not forgiving. Women especially suffer. Wallace Simpson found that out.
But that wasn't to do with just family - it was a Constitutional crisis and yes, it had a huge impact nationally and in fact internationally too. In the long-term it was a blessing although it did not seem so at the time.
It was only a Constitutional crisis because the government chose to make it one. Edward was prepared to have a morganatic marriage and some politicians backed him. Baldwin and the government did not.
I've always wondered about the Hitler connection and who was really behind it. I suspect Edward (who was quite a socialist in his youth) was as seduced by the prospect of financial stability as many Germans were. The poverty he saw in working class Britain in the 1930s shocked him.
Even so the treatment of Wallis (apologies for the misspelling) in her old age was unnecessary.

Yes, I doubt Wallis would have gone off on her own to meet Hitler, Edward was keen too. It showed a lack of judgement which would not have been a good thing in a Head of State.
When you have cancer you don’t need any extra stress in your life and also the thought that whatever you are going through and whatever you say might be fed to the press. I wouldn’t meet him, either. If it is true what the online media are saying it is a very bad cancer and his years are limited.
I have no idea as to the truth of this but do we even know if this was expected to be just a loving son visiting his dad or a "I need to know about xyz" type conversation? Or even "I'm free on Thursday at 2.25pm"

there is always an hour to be found if they both wish it
That’s just it, probably only one of them wishes it.
I expect the King’s advisers have visions of Harry giving an interview later, saying how his father seemed, tired maybe, perhaps having lost weight, not very robust, worried about losing his hair…..
The sad thing is, that all this, "Will he, Won't he" business, will carry on for another generation beyond Charles because it appears William is even more anti Harry. The little cousins will have never met, so I guess we have to wait until 50 years hence for closure on all this. (And none of us will live to see it!)
People have short memory's as to what C&C done to Harrys mum .. Times have not changed since Henry V111 just names ..
True, I also think Diana was badly treated ........ but Camilla has well and truly risen to the occasion, and Charles must be very grateful for the way in which she took on the challenge, which hasn't been an easy one.
worried about losing his hair ….. Well Harry can't talk! Anyway KC doesn't look as if he is losing his hair in any of the recent pics. We have NO reliable evidence that his cancer is "serious" (what cancer isn't?) other than online gossip, but as for his years are numbered - well he is 75
