Trump
(215 Posts)Clearly the Republicans want him and clearly the blob is scared of him.
I predict he'll win bigly.

When Trump was running the last time, reporters went onto the streets to ask his supporters what he'd have to do for them NOT to support him. It started off minor but when it got to "If he had k1ll3d children, would you still vote for him" and they replied "Yes".
I was dumbfounded.
Trump is a narcissistic, awful excuse for a human being. His supporters are deluded and very often (but not always) not the brightest crayons in the box. He thrives on dividing people and stirring up tension and hate. It has been PROVEN in a court of law that he is a se#ual predator and has paid goodness knows how many millions of pounds in hush money to numerous people. Because he can. He's a terrible excuse for a human and I sincerely hope the American people don't make the same mistakes again.
You are funny sometimes Urmstongran. The fact that your views are very much in the minority isnāt down to most of us being former teachers, reading the Guardian or being left leaning. Itās because the majority of us keep ourselves informed from various sources about whatās going on in the world, we read the news, and know people who live in USA who are genuinely scared about what Trump is capable of.
Trump shamed them into upping their dues. The EU were dragging their feet until he jolted them out of their complacency. Strength from Trump.
Well I for one am not an ex-teacher, nor do I lean to the left, read the Guardian or watch Ch 4 news - and I have no doubt Iām not alone. You know full well from your last thread that youāre pretty much alone on GN in your admiration of Trump yet still you persist in stirring the pot. Now you stoop to offering āreasonsā for nobody sharing your delusions. Why do you bother when you know what sort of responses you will get?
Despite my dislike of Trump, I do think all the countries of NATO should pay their dues. Itās disgraceful that they donāt. How dare they, and then expect the protection of NATO?
Saying that the rest of the NATO countries have to honour their commitment to 2% of their GDP, which many are not
Trumpās strength, right there on display GG13. Well illustrated.
No, I said you were wrong in my analogy of Starmer. Not that your views are wrong. Of course you are as entitled to hold your viewpoint as I am mine.
I realise how much of an outlier I am on GN! Mostly ex-teachers who lean to the left and read the Guardian and watch Ch.4 news.
We just have to agree to disagree in that you are correct!
Itās good to debate without being personal. Play the ball not the player.

^Manufactured froth^? You are seriously deluded Urms. I expect you will still think heās wonderful when heās running the US from a jail cell.

No Cossy you donāt get it. Starmer isnāt a strong LEADER. Which is why I said āLucky Americaā. I wish we had one.
Anyone who genuinely wishes we could have Trump instead of Starmer as a candidate for their next leader truly needs some form of help!
I have relatives in the USA, they are scared of Trump getting in!
Trump does not care about a huge proportion of American citizens, including Native Americans, people of colour and most women. Nor does he care about those on low incomes, if he did he wouldnāt have done his damndest to reverse Obama Care.
You clearly have very strange views and we simply need to agree to disagree. By the way, having opposing views doesnāt make either of us right! So I do not accept your assertion that Iām wrong!
Quite apart from anything else, I find Trump physically repulsive.
Though obviously a lot of Americans wouldnāt agree.

I donāt like Trump and if he gets in, I think Ukraine is lost. I hope Iām wrong.
I donāt think Starmer is anything like Trump, but I think heās weak. Heās not a leader, anymore than Sunak is.
He about giving him a chance? Weāve not really seen what he is and isnāt capable of as yet.
I think it's not worth commenting to be honest.
Because Trump is a cult there will be no open discussion with his supporters.
Enough said I feel.

That is a big worry for me, I am not sure that POTUS Trump would continue supporting Ukraine and/or NATO to the same degree that POTUS Biden is trying to.
Saying that the rest of the NATO countries have to honour their commitment to 2% of their GDP, which many are not.
Hitler was a strong Leader Urmstongran, as is Putin - clue, massive egotists who think their way is the only way. There are dangerous parallels between them and Trump, which are as obvious as an open barn door to the thinking person.

He wonāt be though!

Trump is Marmite. I happen to like both.
He is a patriot. Not a dyed in the wool politician with all the wheeler dealings that involves. Heās not afraid to speak his mind and gets things done. He really does put America first. Heās strong and charismatic. A powerful man in many ways. He says what the American people (who havenāt benefited from the trickle down effect) who feel overlooked want to hear. āDrain the swampā. They know it exists and are sick of it. Many feel they have nothing to lose they have been neglected for so long. Rednecks or (like here?) Red Wall voters. They admire his strength and passion for the USA. As do I.
And the indictments? š¤£
Manufactured froth by the Democrats.

Well last nightās polling was amazing for Trump. Nikki Haley secured one state only - out of 15. Huge wins for Trump!
America and the UK have some similar problems. Theyāre getting Trump next.
Weāre getting Starmer.
Lucky America.
Aside from wanting to be ācontroversialā how on earth can you EVER compare Trump and Starmer? Trump and Johnson Iād almost understand, at least they have some things in common, opening mouths before engaging brain and lying?
What on earth has Starmer done to you?
Like many, it both surprises and astonishes me that the people capable of becoming president of the USA number so few. You cannot compare Sir Keir Starmer with the crazy people voted for by Americans. He is a former DPP and has come from a humble background. Some people here are deluded about the corrupt Tories, let alone the corrupt US political system.
lucky America? I really, really donāt understand your support for this disgusting criminal.
Trump and Starmer. Heaven help us all.
urms what is it that you like about Trump.
How do you reconcile your support with the law suites , and his already being found guilty for sex related crimes and fraud, and yet more to come?
I am truly interested was I canāt begin to understand at the moment.
