Just home from church and enjoying my coffee before eight year old DGS arrives for a sleepover so I thought I’d say welcome to Clovismouse. Sorry you’re feeling lonely just now but you’ve come to the right place for a blether!
If you’ve been reading you’ll know we all have our ups and downs, some more serious than others but there is always support and interesting lives and doings to read about.

Good morning .... Just joined on here as I seem to have hit a bout of extreme loneliness ...!

Good morning from coastal West Sussex where the earlier sunshine has almost disappeared which is a shame as family (DDs 1 & 3, SoniL and DD1s FIL) are coming for lunch. I hope it will stay dry for a walk. I haven’t cooked a roast dinner for more than 2 for ages so I am panicking about timings. Beef in oven. dD3 is vegetarian so I hope the things I bought in Waitrose for her are alright. She will eat the roast veg even if they’ve been cooked with the beef.

I love seeing people’s interiors - Grandmattie’s wall lizards and Mizuna’s bright sitting area were a real treat this morning.

Good morning from a glorious hot day in Tenerife I’ll be going to the market today followed by a coffee at the poolside

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Slept till 9.30 am, so am just enjoying a large mug of tea.

Got the cats into their carriers ok yesterday, but it was a different matter at the vets! The one that I thought would be.difficult behaved hersrlf; but the normally placid one was like a little banshee, and the vet had to get an extra pair of hands in to handle her. I have been advised to sedate her before her next visit, which will be interesting....... at least it's not for another year.

After dropping the cats back home DD-out-law kindly dropped me at M&S Food, where I had a reviving coffee and sausage butty before doing a bit of shopping. Met an ex-colleague and had a nice catch-up.
Felt quite down the rest of the day, was upset about the experience at the vets I think.
Spent the afternoon watching both rugby matches and reading. Another narrow escape for England....

Shall be watching the Ireland match this afternoon, and will keep an eye out for DD and her husband, as they have gone over to Dublin for it - DS-in-law's birthday present!

May all those feeling under the weather make a speedy recovery - Mick, you need to get checked.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Lovely day yesterday, sunny and DD spent the day celebrating her best friend’s 50th. Hard to believe she is now that age knowing her since they were in play school together.
I went along to the next village and the park was full of crocuses and daffodils, very jolly. My mother’s ashes were scattered there and mine will be too. After a meal of sausage and chips (very healthy😁) I walked the length and breadth of the village as my back is troubling me and I’m hoping more exercise will help.

In the evening I watched Rupert Everett as Oscar Wilde, very touching and I recommend his autobiographies if you haven’t read them, very witty.
Today out for a roast with DD.

Very late good morning from a rainy NE.
DS was out walking yesterday dropping GD at rehearsals, he thought he would arrive at mine about noon. Shortly before expected time I got a message to say he was lost in woods. He arrived two hours later covered in mud and very hungry. Luckily I had a big pot of my home made soup so he had that with ham sandwiches.
Sister and BIL visited and we had our usual drinks and normally chat about what we have been doing during the week but we rarely go anywhere now. Their highlight was that they had booked a week away close to GC so they see them in the Easter holiday.
Sorry to hear Urmston is poorly, get well soon.

Sorry, I didn't mean to send that then - but at least it wasn't lost, as yesterday's post was!
Today is another quiet day here, but this evening all our tai chi groups are getting together for a Chinese Banquet in our lovely local Chinese Restaurant. In the good old (pre-Covid) days there would be 50 or 60 of us, but I believe numbers are down this year. It should still be a good evening though!
I have my fingers crossed that I don't have a bad reaction to the food. As I grow older my stomach protests more and more at anything out of the ordinary 🤞
My youngest GD has told me that she's coming up to visit on Tuesday. She only has one lecture that finishes at 10am, so by the time she gets here I'll have finished tai chi - nice timing. We will have her favourites for lunch - curried sweetcorn soup and chocolate meringue for puds. Tomorrow will be all about prep - I haven't fed anyone here for ages and I'm quite out of the habit.
Now off I go - for the second time 😉.

Good morning all. Mick I echo everyone's advice. I'm sorry you have this worry now after doing so well for a while, but please don't ignore it.
It's another grey day on the Angus coast, but mist instead of rain - an improvement! Yesterday the clouds lifted for a short while and the sun came out showing the hills had had a considerable snowfall. It didn't reach the coast I'm glad to say.
I love your colour scheme Mizuna - my favourite colour combination. It's so warm and sunny and Cornish!
Well done on your decision to move Oops and it will be wonderful (when the dust has settled!) to make a new start in a decluttered house!

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey, misty Carlisle. Not sure what it will do later, clear up I hope.

Yesterday I popped out to Sainsbury's and was annoyed with myself for forgetting to take my money off fuel coupon, it was the last day for it. Then it was home for a long chat with my sister. It was a beautiful sunny day so after lunch, it was out in the garden. One plant in and another moved. Everything was originally planted to allow for eventual size but the plants have minds of their own-some over-perform and others sulk or give up the ghost!
Today is usually an idle day but, after reading the papers, I may go for a walk in the park. I must decide what to dig out of the freezer for dinner, very possibly a pheasant breast I think.

That chair blends in well with your room Mizuna and looks very comfortable.

Quick trip to Aldi friend as asked if I can get something their Aldi haven't got then back for more decluttering.
Mick will repeat what others have said if you've not been eating beetroot get a sample to your Drs.

On Friday I went for an assessment in for cataracts which threw up a few surprises to say the least. Apparently my cataracts are fairly minor. Was told they could be improved by new lenses but only by 5-10% so I’ve decided it’s not worth the risks. My sight is bad because of all the rubbish in my vitreous about which there is nothing they can do. I do also have thin retinas common in people as myopic as myself. So I won’t be doing anything in the foreseeable future. Just wish I could see better as I find dark colours very hard to differentiate.

Watched both rugby matches yesterday. We had Coquilles St. Jacques for dinner. Beef stroganoff tonight.

I hope your sense of taste returns soon Urms and the pleurisy is short lived. DH is always losing his sense of smell as he has really bad sinuses and it makes him very fed up. Get better soon.

Half term coming up so DGD all day tomorrow and her brother all day on Tuesday.

Just church today but have had a succession of callers wanting to meet Olive the new cat - at least when she eventually goes outside she will bs recognised by the neighbours. Marydoll, when I finally admitted that I will never get into some very favourite clothes I enlisted the help of DD who is truthful and we went through my wardrobes. she took away three large bags for charity shops. It was painful but meant that the job got done as I wasn’t allow to dither.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining. Yesterday we had mist all day.
Off to church shortly. I may take the car. I usually walk , it’s only 10 minutes but I don’t want to arrive soaked.
This afternoon I’m off to a concert in Stokesley. My friends’ son is singing.
Mick definitely contact the gp tomorrow.

Good morning from a dry Suffolk after heavy rain all night.

We have decided to go to the beach for a walk as dogs are allowed at this time of year and it should be firmer than the flooded and muddy fields.

Yesterday’s excursion to buy DH’s replacement was successful. A local jewellers is very helpful and the assistant asked if we wanted to look at ‘preowned’ ones as they were cheaper. Having measured his finger she disappeared upstairs and came down with quite a selection all of which looked new to our inexpert eyes. He chose one and says it is better than the original. I can’t remember how much we paid for that more than 40 years ago but I think it was probably more than his ‘new’one.

Hoping those with illness and worries find some peace today.

Mick, if you have not been eating beetroot, why not take a sample to the surgery for testing?
Also some medications can also affect the colour of your wee, it usually mentions it on the accompanying leaflet.

Mizuna, I suspected you would have a colourful and interesting sitting room!

I may stay in bed this morning. My chest is very congested and painful, I have had very little sleep. I blame a very cold church last night. It was warmer outside than in! The heating system has had numerous repairs in the last week, all to no avail.

Good luck with all the decluttering activities. I am making good progress, but it is very difficult to get rid of clothes, you like and think you will shrink in to! 😂 A lost cause.
I tried on a beautiful padded coat yesterday, ( DH was putting up new coat hooks, so an opportunity to scrutinise my coats) and the look on DH's face said That will never fit you again! 🤬

Good morning from a dry, for now, Essex coast.
DH is off to rugby with his grandsons, I have a casserole to prepare, washing to do and lots of paperwork.
I received a picture of my youngest DGD yesterday minus her first tooth. She was beaming proudly at the camera. I hope the tooth fairy remembered her 🤣🤣.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Grey and cold in South Yorkshire today. Yesterday was dry and mild enough to put some laundry out and walk down to the supermarket. I spent yesterday making GS a lemon drizzle birthday cake. I have to out a few finishing touches to it this morning. He is 17 today and we are going out later this afternoon for a birthday meal. Where on earth does the time go?

I had a quick walk around the garden yesterday looking for signs of spring, there’s a few bulbs showing but not much else yet.
I’m looking forward to a face time call with DS this morning, lots of news to catch up on. Later DGS is coming for his regular Sunday sleepover so he’ll be bringing his favourite games and it’ll be an evening of board games to look forward to 🤦‍♀️
