I first and foremost try to keep busy. I make sure I have lots of warm, cosy clothes to wear, including a faux fur hat that has a scarf attached which covers my nose, so only my eyes show. Great for freezing weather.
Winter is also a great time for hobbies. Knitting and crochet become easier because the yarn doesn't stick to my hands. Reading is my favourite pass time and I can curl up with a good book, knowing that I won't have 'cold' callers at the front door every two minutes.
I light a candle in whichever room I am occupying, even during the day to bring in the light. It's surprising how much it lifts the spirits.
And finally, I can get into pj's early, knowing that no one will call at the door, as most people go into hibernation during the winter months 😁.
All these little pleasures keep me going.
