TU trousers

I saw an article this morning about TU summer trousers.
Apparently the linen ones, trimmed with Broderie Anglais, are much, much too long.
Recently I bought two pairs of their summer trousers, length Regular, lightweight and with linen, in bright colours. They were fine, except that they were 4" too long.
Luckily I was able to shorten them, but the trimmed ones, mentioned in the article, will not be possible to alter without losing the trim.
What has gone wrong?

Platform trainers are fashionable at the moment so maybe that is why the trousers are longer.

It is frustrating though, M&S have done the same. I’m 5’6” which I don’t think is particularly short, but I’m now a petite in many trousers and jeans, I always try them on first these days.

OMG Casdon I am an inch shorter than you. It shows how long it is since I bought trousers because all of my life I have bought long, preferably 30 inches.

Casdon I know I have shrunk over the last couple of years, but not that much. I was always 5'6", same as you.
I would love to think that I am Petite, but won't kid myself.
But, platforms of 4", wow!

As to the young women being taller, I haven't really noticed, but maybe they are.

Wouldn’t be long enough for me at 5’11”, so I am limited on where I can shop, my daughter and granddaughter are tall as well.
