Saw it for the first time at Easter. My granddaughter wanted to watch it.

Always whatever you are doing think, is it being kind.

I bought the GC it for Christmas and asked if they wanted to watch it. The answer was" No", they wanted the" Sound of Music", which drives me mad after seeing it umpteen times.
Is it perhaps more for adults and we empathise with the message more? Youngsters just take it at face value.

I’ve had this book for a while and bought it for Mackesy’s wonderful ‘spare’ illustrations. When I saw the film over Christmas I was amazed at how faithfully and well it had transcribed for television. It could have been awful. It certainly wasn’t. I pick up the book whenever I need to be soothed.

Charlie Mackesy's drawings are formed with spare and sinuous lines and are anatomically true as should be expected from a trained artist.

The Horse is the model for Lloyds Bank's sympathetic and supportive horses in their advert.

I plan to buy the Scottish version which is The laddie the Mowdie the Tod and the Cuddie.

They all lose the mask of pretence and become who they are, and are loved for it. That's a blessing of the book. Yes, one needs a hankie.

DH bought it for me for Easter. This lovely book will join ‘Wind in the Willows’ as my favourites of all time.

I watched it yesterday, liked what it was trying to say and think it will become a classic.

NotSpaghetti try and watch the film on catch up. I found all the background story helps with the book.

I watched the film at Christmas and yesterday watched the making of it with Charlie Mackesy. I too had very teary eyes.

Watching Charlie Mackesy(sp?) and the story unfold on TV, made me understand the book a lot better.
I found it very emotional.

I watched it..and ordered the book, and the book is so simple, and true, and all about acceptance, and the most lovely illustrations you could frame them. I felt found, not lost.

It was first shown over Christmas and I watched it then- I loved it and I will never forget it.
