'Queen Camilla'?

Personally I'm in favour of a republic as Royalty has no place in 2023.
But Charles took an innocent naive girl and married her solely for the purpose of producing heirs. A breeding machine
And all the time he was seeing Camilla a married woman.
I think they are both disgusting people and neither are fit to rule our country, if we really need a king and queen anyway.
I know many people have affairs but not many take a wife just to breed. He even told Diana he didn't love her the day before the wedding. And Camilla didn't walk away when he married. She's nothing but a married man's tart.

Charles was not involved with Camilla when he became involved with Diana.

Diana wanted to give her father the prize her sister failed to give him. She was not ‘shy Di’,

Well once they start digging into how they all got to be there in the first place, with a bit of luck, they will all be gone! I just wondered when the investigations would start on the ‘slavery’ issue!

I don't care about the intimacies. Very 'whatever' about them. We all talk tosh in our relationships. But to an extent, Diana was groomed. And Charles and Camilla were part of that.

It was inevitable that at least one of her children would hold that against them. And the country. After all, we watched a lot of it happen.

As I said before though, most of the blame lies with Charles. He's the one that should have kept her in the background. If he didn't push her forward, this discord wouldn't be occurring. Very reminiscent of Edward and Wallis. He was the weak spoiled one but she got all the blame.

I have long held the opinion that Diana was a convenience and there only to provide an heir - I have heard some describe her as a "Royal incubator". I guess we will never know the truth surrounding her untimely death but the worldwide outpouring of grief spoke volumes, there's no denying that.

I don't even consider Charles to have been an attractive man at all, certainly didn't make me swoon in his youth, in fact I always thought of him as a bit of a sop. Quite what Camilla or Diana saw in him is a mystery to me too.

Camilla is certainly not my cup of tea although I do agree with some of King Charles opinions on the environment etc

I also think Charles and Camilla's private conversations should have stayed private so whilst I find the whole think a bit stomach churning I wouldn't hold that against them. Quite honestly, if the conversation had been between 2 people I adored, I'd feel the same ugh factor.

No but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Diana was obviously a damaged person and her behaviour was probably unsettling for anybody who was used to a different sort of behaviour. I would suspect that her early years and loss of her mother would have given her mental health issues she would have needed a lot of help to overcome. Using her to produce an heir and spare would have just damaged her more. In any other walk of life we'd be horrified but because it is Royalty it appears to be ok.

Spot on. But there are also many who view Diana as some kind of saint who couldn't put a foot wrong.

When Queen Elizabeth II died, a lot of us liked the tribute from Emmanuel Macron on behalf of the French. He said, ‘To you she was ‘Our Queen’, but to us she was ‘The Queen’. He was right to an extent, but to most Brits, when you say ‘The Queen’ you automatically think of the late Queen Elizabeth. Given Camilla’s age I don’t think there is time for us to get over that. I’m happy for her to be called ‘Queen Camilla’ or Queen Consort but not ‘The Queen’.

What a lot of ancient bitterness! - They are like any other family and have their problems - - Move on and embrace the future - the past is gone!
I think Camilla is good for Charles and has conducted herself well - as the other woman in the past - she never uttered a word about her relationship and could have done - it happens in lots of families and the kids learn to accept the new partner .

Agree with CazB and Nicegranny. I'm very 'whatever' about Diana, but Camilla was conniving. Obviously, the blame lay 99% with Charles. He was the one married to D. But women who stab other women in the back are not to be trusted either.

I totally agree with you Nicegranny. Camilla may be supporting Charles well now, but I can't forget her treatment of Diana. I can't think of her as The Queen.

These people have decided they don’t like her and won’t let the facts get in the way of a good reason to diss her. I liked Diana but she was very immature and not suited to the role. Charles should have been allowed to marry Camilla in the beginning

TBH, it all started to go downhill when royals started marrying outside of other royal circles Born royals grow up understanding the role

Camilla seems like a good egg, she does a great deal for her chosen charities, genuinely seems to enjoy meeting people and she seems to be able to handle Charlie's occasional tantrums with aplomb. I like her.

Charles should never have been forced into marrying Diana.

Camilla is great and I would like to meet her and have a meal with her and others. I am sure she would be great company and we would have a good laugh.

She makes King Charles laugh and smile. You often see them giggling.
