Burt Bacharach has died - what was your favourite song?

I am enjoying watching BBC TV 4 featuring songs but it sad that a lot of the singers we enjoyed dancing to have also died.

"What do you get when you fall in love?
You get enough germs to catch pneumonia and when you do he'll never phone ya....."

Oh gosh so many great songs. Dionne Warwick singing "Walk on By" not necessarily his best song but one which so suited a broken teenage heart. RIP Burt

This Guy’s In Love With You, anything that Karen Carpenter and Dusty Springfield sang and the Stranglers version of Walk On By. I have the privilege of seeing Burt in concert in Oxford a few years ago. A truly amazing man.

My favourite would have to be I Say A Little Prayer, in Aretha Franklin's version.

I remember seeing Dionne Warwick live when her
Walk on By was a hit.

"what was your favourite song? " should be what IS your favourite. Burt may be gone but we still have his wonderful music - his legacy for us all.

As so often, it's not the number ones that are the greatest hits in the long term. None of them by Dionne Warwick, for whom Bacharach and David wrote so often, either although she had several near misses.

This guy's in love with you and Walk on by spring to mind. I think he wrote Anyone who had a heart too.

RIP reached a great age I believe.

When DH and I were going out together his songs were on everyone’s lips. We loved his music so much; still have a Dionne Warwick CD. My favourite? “Walk on By”.
A musical genius. RIP.
