Is a Lardy cake a type of fruit bread or is that something entirely different.?
It all reminds me of Betty’s fat rascals, delicious.

I had bran flakes and manderin oranges with a cup of tea a bit earlier this morning. Feeling a bit peckish now but will hold out till lunchtime if i can, if not it will be a yogurt.

I haven't eaten anything yet today but Im going out to buy a Lardy cake.....?

I make lardy cake (once in a blue moon) with Trex - seems to work OK.

Dh’s granny used to make a lardy cake he still occasionally raves about - I’ve yet to make one, though. I’m afraid the ‘lard’ bit puts me off. I only ever buy it in order to make bird pudding in very cold weather (our birds are very appreciative).

Two (delicious) jam doughnuts yesterday. I blame dh, since he bought a pack of 4 from M&S, and obviously I had to eat my two because it would have been a sin to let them go stale.

I have just googled Lardy Cake, is it similar to pain aux raisin?

You need to find a small West Country bakery. Bakers of Bath do large and individual slices amongst other delicious naughty but nice cakes. They also do fantastic lunch time rolls with multiple fillings to pick and choose from. If ever you are in Bath worth a visit.

Beans on Marmite toast.

Could eat it again it was so delicious.

Fig yoghurt with prunes followed by 2 Brie and black cherry jam filled croisants and coffee. Feeling full as an egg.
