Beards... disgusting

And which aspect of an individual's personal appearance are the self-appointed Hanging Judges going to pontificate about next? Baldness? Weight? Red hair? Height? Spectacles? ... I'd better stop there..
Shallow and unpleasant.

I don't mind beards but they have to be well groomed, not long like Nanook of the North. Males in family usually grow beards for the winter. The long, half way down the chest beards make me squirm.

Mr H has had a beard for the last 30 years, it suits him. It's always neat and tidy because I trim it for him, and always clean.
Our sons alternate between clean shaven and designer stubble.

I don't mind beards at all and quite like a Santa/Uncle Albert beard on the right face. But I don't like goatee beards, they just look ridiculous like a half-hearted effort.

Hubby has goatee as he has a little skin tag in chin and dr said it was cosmetic and couldn’t be taken off. Never mind he looks ok with it. Son 2 has a beard clean and suits him son three has stubble suits him too. Up to the individual I’m nit that keen though.

I don't like beards, personal choice, and would not date a bearded chap.
My pet hates are bearded men on t.v. cooking shows without nets on their beards - ugh!!

On behalf of all females of a certain age, who have begun to grow unexpected and unwelcome hairs in certain places I would like to protest at this blatant ageism.

I like a goatee, a bit of stubble, but a full uncle Albert is just too much for me. Balding and beards to me looks like a head upside down.

I detest all beards. How unhygienic! So many men still have dark hair and a horrible white beard! Can’t they see it adds 20 years on them! Bald men with a huge beard look as though their heads on upside down

Mr K has had a beard all our married life apart from a month or so when it was shaved for work. I cried as well - it just wasn’t Mr K! I’ve never seen food trapped in his beard and he also has a full head of curly hair so beard is not grown in compensation! DS also has a very nice, well trimmed beard.

Beards suit some men but not others. Our GS (22) has a beard and it really suits him - he's a rugged outdoor type. DH grew a beard as a student in the early 1960s. I wasn't keen on it but hadn't known him long and didn't like to tell him. The issue was resolved quite soon after when he was going to New York to do some work experience. He was advised to shave off the beard as it wouldn't be well received in the US where beards at that time were regarded as hippie (with drug-related associations). He's never grown a beard since.

My Son in law has a full on , clean BUT unkempt beard and extremely longhair. My son has a neatly trimmed two week beard.
My grandson is 15 …. so I’m holding my breath!

Some very judgemental and frankly, quite unpleasant comments on here relating to people's physical appearance. Rather shallow IMHO. I'm much more interested in the personality behind the beard.

How I love a man with a beard! Mr, GW has had one all our married life. Can’t ever remember finding second helpings in it.

I don't mind a bit of designer stubble in fact it can look dam sexy on some men That aside I really can't stand full blown beards but each to their own. Their owners probably look at me and think what's with the hair down to her waist at her age

I’m not keen on big bushy beards. Perhaps I’ve read The Twits too often, but the neatly trimmed ones look good, and I know they take more attention to keep looking good than a quick shave. I just wish designer stubble has been in fashion when DH was younger. His beard seemed to grow so fast that even though he shaved in the morning, if we were going out in the evening he had to shave all over again.

Each to his own and who knew that I’d be plucking a few stragglers every now and again. Where do they come from, and how do I not notice them appearing?

My late husband was clean shaven from March to late August and then he let his beard grow. He said it was because it kept his face warm when working outside in the winter. I used to say that I had two husbands! Loved them both the same,

I don’t mind a short stubbly beard in its natural shape, not sculpted and manicured, but I think a moustache without a beard looks hideous and ridiculous on any man of any age!

Like all other body parts it need to be looked after and kept clean, but I think many men really suit a beard - and once they are established they're quite silky rather than being scratchy
Thought ..... if women had beards it would stop spilled food from dripping straight onto their chests!

I grew my first beard in the school summer holidays when I was sixteen, and repeated the process annually until I left school. I have had one ever since, apart from four brief intervals: two for plays I was in, and two when my electric beard trimmer went berserk and I had to restart from scratch. It was once jet black, now it's white, and has always been kept trimmed, shorter now than fifty-odd years ago.

As for beard hair being pubic - of course it is, in the sense that it begins to grow with the onset of puberty, and tends to be equally wiry. Anyway, what's wrong with pubic hair?

I don't like beards either. I think they are unhygienic unless the owner of one is assiduous about keeping it clean and alas most aren't. And as others have said food gets stuck in it. Yuck! Personally I think they are just all round unpleasant for any woman to live with. But, hey, each to their own!

Well all my sons have beards , all clean and well groomed thankyou very much .
