Who hasn’t had Covid?

Despite being on the vulnerable list, I hardly dare say it but no neither Mr B nor have had it. We certainly go out and mix with people but I always wear a mask, often the only one in the supermarket with one on and will continue. To do so. All the family except my son and daughter have had it, I even sat in a hospital in the full protected gear to be with my daughter while covid was on the ward. Long may it last for me

MrB thinks he had it very early on (but nobody noticed; I'm not even sure he noticed at the time ?).

I haven't had it, though I've had a few sniffles over that last two years as usual, which apparently many people haven't.

All my offspring, who live in busier places and who mix with far more people than I do, have had it, as have my grandsons. None of them were actually ill.

No none of us have had it here either. Meaning 2 eldest sons, grandchildren, DiL and I.

My daughter and her partner have had it who live abroad. My DiL mom has had it. None of the rest of her family have had it

I attend a fellowship twice a week with alot of people. Only two of us out of it that haven't had it.

I don't know if I'm asymptomatic or just not had it. I don't think it's asymptomatic as I tested weekly for a long time because of contact with my grandchildren

We haven't had covid but we have had the flu jab for many years. We have had 4 jabs.

Since the end of lockdown and mask wearing I know at least 12 people who have had covid, some badly and for others it was just like a cold. Like us, they had been careful in where they went and who they saw. Some of them know where they caught it but others have no idea.

However, I have suffered a bad reaction from the 4th jab. I can no longer raise my arms above my head and my left arm will not reach shoulder level. It's very painful and if I lift a full mug I have to support the left hand with the right. So, I'm now wondering whether I should have the next jab, when offered.

Four experimental jabs have damaged your health and you would contemplate having more?! If they told you to jump off a bridge I'm pretty sure you would! Think!

No I haven't had it and neither has my OH. We did both have a v bad chest infection in December 2019 though. But that was before covid was officially here.
DGD stayed here for a weekend and was positive on Sunday morning. Also sat with my 2 sisters for 2 hours in a small room. They both tested positive next day and were quite ill. But I never caught it there either
Interesting that my GP told me to take a LF test before a face to face appointment. Then said they are only 40-60% accurate with positive results. So wonder how many really have had covid and not known.

Should have said, of course I do all the mask wearing, hand sanitizing and the lateral testing, did 2 over this w/e, one this morning all negative.

GrammyGrammy Has your GP confirmed that the damage to your arms is caused by the COVID vaccination? Just because two things happen at the same time doesn't mean that they have to be linked.

My friend had symptoms very like yours about 15 years ago. She thought it was damage done at the gym, when she wrenched her arm. Unfortunately, in her case, it had nothing to do with the injury she suffered a day before the symptoms appeared. Instead it presaged a very serious and eventually fatal illness.

So do not jump to conclusions, get medical advice.

I know some people have had adverse reactions to the covid vaccination and obviously in those cases it is not going to be sensible to have more, but for the majority of people the vaccinations have had no negative effects and like every other vaccination is not going to give you 100% protection, but if you get the illness it will be milder than if you had not had the vaccination

I never believed in it from day one and refused to wear a mask or have the jab. As a ex nurse I knew wearing a mask every day is not good for you dispite what the government and WHO say and I certainly knew that your immune system can deal with virus's. This I guarantee will turn out to be the biggest hoax of the century.

DH and I seem to have missed catching it, despite various friends and acquaintances having had it.
DD, SIL and three children have not had it.
DS, DIL and two children have had it.
We suspect that some people may have a natural immunity.

Btw, no idea if there is any connection, but DD and I never get cold sores.

Well guess what I have it. I think I got it in Waitrose on Sunday, I shopped without a mask and a little boy, 3 or 4 spat at me when I asked him not to keep pushing and hitting me as I was trying to get a chicken. His dad didn’t seem to think he had done much wrong as he was only little. I then told him his son was a boy who needed better parents, parents who had parenting skills. At this rate I said he would end up a horrible boy. At which point the boy started crying and I walked away. And no he didn’t have a problem, it was the first thing I asked.

So now I am hoping I will be negative by Friday week as I have to gohospital for a procedure.

What’s the current incubation period? I had an eye test yesterday and ended up having to take me mask off as it was impossible to do some of the tests wearing a mask or trying on glasses.

I haven’t and have never taken any precautions except those actually obligatory. I HATED wearing a mask and stopped the moment I could. I have never been afraid of catching it as I assumed it would be mild.

Seriously?? Such a pity you’re an “ex nurse” You might have a better understanding of the situation if you’d been working 12 hour shifts in a hospital since the start of the pandemic.

Ok, lets accept that COVID was a hoax. What was it then that made so many people so ill and killed or did long term damage to the health of so many? Why is there a clinically identifiable virus in samples taken from the the people with non COVID.

Who originally had the idea of the hoax and how was it planned and promulgated? Why did they have the hoax idea?

I am sure you can come back with fulled verified evidence, complete with with links to reputable sources that explain it all. You sound so sure.

On the other hand, what is far more likely, is that like other posters who share your views, ask for solid evidence and you, and they, disappear like snow in summer - and this summer snow disappears very very quickly.

Neither Mr. G nor I have had Covid, although of course we followed all the rules at the time. Since they were lifted we've just gone back to our usual way of life; shopping, socialising, we've been to the theatre several times, I've been into London on the Tube, we've been to galleries and are so happy to be able to do the things we love.

We've had all the jabs and will certainly have the autumn top-up one when eligible. I had a bit of a sore arm last time, but DH has had no reaction at all to any of them. I've had far worse reactions to the 'flu jab and was positively poorly after the shingles one.

When I was 40 (76 now) I had chicken pox, about as bad as it could be. My doctor at the time said that after fighting that off, my immune system would probably stand me in good stead for the rest of my life. I've hardly had a cold since then, let alone anything else ... so here's hoping he was right!

Goodness knows where you trained as a nurse or what kind of nurse you were. You weren't taught much about infection control or how immunity works!

I know that masks are really ineffective unless they are the N type but still wore one to conform.
I'm still on the fence regarding the vaccine. I've had 3 of which 2 gave me horrific side effects including blackouts and falls so will have no more.
The question is did more people die before vaccination because the vaccine helped prevent this?
Or was the virus stronger at the start and weakened over time as viruses are known to do?
Government has actually stated that they are developing a new vaccine for Autumn as the ones we've had are not effective against the Omicron varients we have now.
I'm pretty sure none of the vaccines prevented transmission and stopped people catching Covid as cases rose dramatically after 90% of people were vaccinated in my area.
Sadly vaccine or refusing vaccine has split lifelong friendships, parted family members and alienated sections of society. In UK its been bad enough but other countries policies have been far worse.
That's my thoughts on it.

Jinxed my other half, damn it! I’m - so far - still testing negative, so keeping everything crossed.

Can I ask, how do you know your family members had it? Was it because they were forever testing themselves? As the tests did not differentiate between viruses, or fragments of dead viruses, it is possible that they had something else, especially if it was something they got over quite quickly.
