scams at TSB nat west Lloyds santander and other banks as well

Yes I never answer any calls on the landline for example because they are all unsolicited.

I wouldn't recognise my bank's phone number, if it did call me.

Yes but that's how we know it's a scam because certainly in my case my bank never calls me.

Does your phone display the name of your bank, Infoman ? Mine doesn't!

I'll repeat what Esspee said. It isn't a scam AT YOUR BANK. It is a scam by some lowlife who is ringing his way down a list of numbers, with no idea which bank they use, and saying "I am ringing from your bank . . . "

It must be at least 10 years since my bank rang me - to ask whether I’d be interested in online banking. When the chap started asking for personal details I hung up, thinking it was a scam. Phoned their fraud line to report it, with the phone number.
It was genuine.
Even then you’d have thought they’d have more sense.

My bank hasnt called me in 50 years. I just wouldnt answer that kind of call.

The scams aren't AT the banks, the scammers pretend to be from the banks. They are quite capable of taking over your phone line and routing your calls. If anyone calls and asks you for bank details or asks you to transfer money tell them you will call them back. You may be given a number to call. Do NOT use that number. Find the number from correspondence with your bank. Do NOT call back immediately. Ideally use another phone and call the bank later.
You simply need to be careful.
