I'm going to my usual Wednesday meeting where we're staying on for a celebratory lunch and having some light entertainment, then on Sunday our church is having a jubilee tea. I haven't volunteered to help - makes a change - as I'm busy waiting hand and foot on my daughter who has a broken ankle which was operated on a week ago. Being retired I don't benefit from the extra bank holidays and as I do casual work in a school also don't gain as it is half term! It has been carefully timed so no school workers get extra time off! I'm happy to join in low key stuff - Her Majesty has achieved something amazing and it is right to mark it but if it becomes an excuse for excessive spending and partying I won't be joining in. I feel sorry for those struggling with the cost of living crisis who have no choice!
I need advice for a mutually messy situation
