Gift for Muslim neighbours for Ramadan

You would give a gift on Eid which will probably be 2nd or 3rd May this year. You should be able to buy a card in a card shop, if not then online. A gift of chocolate, home made cake (make sure it’s halal) or sweets would be appreciated I think.

Gifts well the holiday is cruel the treatment of animals an eating killing the flesh of another is the cause of so many problems . Health problems , an in 2022 peace starts on our plate

Thank you, Esspee, I am aware of that. I did not suggest that the cards should be given during Ramadan, I believe I provided the date of Eid.
If my post suggested otherwise that was certainly not my intention.

Eid cards are always very gratefully received (at the end of Ramadan) and anything sweet, whether it's chocolates, dates, a homemade cake etc, is always popular too. The children at the nursery where I work are going to make Eid cards to hand in to the local mosque this year.

Granmarie I believe the greeting “Eid Mubarak” should only be used at the end of the fasting period. i.e. Eid. During Ramadan it would not be appropriate.

Some great ideas for gifts for your Muslim neighbours, if you were thinking of making/ buying a card, the traditional greeting is Eid Mubarak, basically Happy Eid or blessed feast...cards are available from the big River company, other providers are available....
According to my diary, Ramadan ends with Eid Al-Fitr on May 2cnd this year.

When I was in Saudi a colleague told me, just as at Christmas, Eid had become very commercialised and 'grabby' - at one time children would be given a bag of sweets, now they expect X-boxes and the like.

Gifts are usually given at the end of Ramadan when there are big celebrations. I'm not sure if they are also given during Ramadan.

Indian sweets are delicious and there are lots of different types. If you don't live in an area where there are world food stores try on line. You can buy Halwa in the world food aisle in most supermarkets. Asda sell Gulabjam Rassomalah and Halwa desserts usually near the yoghurts. They are delicious I used to buy them for the couple who worked in the business next to ours as a treat.

I have bought high quality dates for my friends. They are traditionally used to break the fast in the evening.
