When do you feel most at peace?​

There are close seconds for mesilverlining

Elecricblanket in the winter and getting some sunlight in sunner...

Just basically easing all the aches and pains away for a while

Spending time at our static in somerset,a few minutes walk to the beach is heaven.
And walking around grave yards.

Looking at the sea. Sitting in a garden or in church. Being with my DGD, with whom I have a special bond, like lixy with her GS1.

I am envious Violet , only wish I could. Not keen on showers so am doing what my gran ( born 1888) did and that is to wash at the sink. What goes around comes around. At least unlike her, I have hot water.

Life is very fast for everyone, but I feel at peace if I meditate- sadly I seem to have lost the knack of doing it. Learnt in my yoga class that I no longer attend. I must now refresh my memory and endeavor to practice what used to come easily to me. Also feel peace and contentment if I have our three adult children with me all present at the same time. Walking by water is a peaceful experience too.

I feel at peace when I put flowers on my grandparents grave, where my mum’s ashes are interred. It’s a quiet little country churchyard, and this time of year, the birds are singing, the sun shines, it takes me back to when I was a child and ‘going to the churchyard’ was a boring, routine thing to get through.

Not any longer, the ‘At Rest’ inscribed on Mum’s plaque says it all.

Watching the sun rise on a beautiful morning. Looking at the Marlborough Downs from my bedroom window. My three grandchildren, even though they are not children any more (boo hoo!) I'm still considered their best friend, particularly DGD1.

Sometimes if I'm in a beautiful place, whether it be seaside or countryside. When I am reading a book and when I sit in a church. These all give me a sense of peace.

Anywhere by water be it sea or river.

Yes the sea always, and in a cemetery on a bench in the sunshine.

Great subject and it’s a hard one to answer for me. Yesterday with a grandchild on each knee reading a couple of books I felt peace and happiness.
After tea when we have cleared up we sit in the living room on the sofa together holding hands watching tv with feet up I feel peace.
At the gym on the cross trainer or treadmill looking over the golf course headphones on music playing and in my zone I feel peace.
I don’t ask for much as you can see lol. I’m easily pleased.

When I’m near the sea, and that doesn’t happen often anymore sadly.

Ever since he was a tiny baby he has been an oasis of calm for me, even in the midst of prepping for the dreaded Ofsted. He's 12 now and we are still 'in tune'.
I'm fortunate to feel at peace a lot of the time, but he is something very special.

What a brilliant question

Meditation for me, it literally stops the world while I get off because if you meditate correctly you are able to be at peace and Re charge

Toying with this. Difficult. Either as I do the riverside walk I've done with everyone I have ever loved or each night when my head hits the pillow and I reflect the day just gone.

Pottering about in the garden, whether it's time spent in the shed setting seeds, giving the borders a hoeing, pulling weeds, or measuring up for the new greenhouse that is on its way..........this is my happy place.

Working on my allotment when there’s no one else around, and it’s a calm and sunny day with the birds singing.

In my little kitchen generally - stirring a risotto, potting and labelling raspberry jam, a sourdough loaf cooling on the rack

Even on my hands and knees giving the floor tiles a wipe after dinner gives a lovely feeling of contentment- the end of another culinary day.

Does that sound odd? Probably - I’m as happy with simple things as more extravagant ones ?
