What Hobbies does everyone have ?

I make jewellery, mostly from recycled beads. My daughter is a nun at the creche, so we fund-raise for them. We do not have a shop, because since we do not reimburse ourselves (it is our donation) for anything (postage, stationery, beads, findings) we do not want to spend money on advertising, rent, electricity... it is all done through Facebook. Many schools and nurseries would love fabric drawstring bags in my experience. They can be used for storysacks and resources

One of the best things I ever did was join my local Age Uk ukulele group. Great fun every week and we hope to put on our first post-lockdown gig soon.

If you really enjoy sewing (and/or knitting) and have lots of fabrics, you could have a look at the Project Linus UK (website and also on FB). I think there are also groups in other countries. A friend of mine was involved a few years ago. I believe it's making quilts and blankets which are distributed to disabled children and premature babies (they get to take their comfort blanket home with them).

My first love is hand embroidery, then I progressed to patchwork quilting. However, I lost my sewing mojo and for the last year I've picked up knitting again. It's not necessarily therapeutic (especially with my usual 'thing' - biting off more than I can chew with a complicated pattern) but it's certainly addictive.

I love scrapbooking and mixed media art. I haven’t been able to do any recently as we moved and I need my son to put up some shelves and storage units for me to make a craft room again.

I paint, usually acrylic, sew - everytime I put my sewing machine away, I find i need it again and baking, reading and watching nonsense on telly!

I'm pleased to say my love of birdwatching has come back after two years of loss of interest due to the b*** pandemic.

Reading is my main love, though, closely followed by cats: wild, tame, pedigree, moggie, breeding, watching, cuddling, etc, etc.

I'm not very good at arts and crafts, and quite envy the ability to create the beautiful items shown on this thread.

They are often in need of larger quilts in more boyish colours.

I’ve rediscovered genealogy after a break of 30 odd years. Much easier now to reference Find My Past and Ancestry on line than when I first started out with half days from work to visit County Hall and trawl through endless microfiche. However access to memories from family and friends has lessened as a lot have passed away. I find I can just pick this activity up as and when the fancy takes me. Since retiring I’ve become far more interested in gardening although it’s far from practical right now. I also enjoy using my IPad to surf the net and do puzzles on it too. Oh and socialising is on my list too.

Knitting is my hobby. I knit baby things and donate to charity. I also love reading.

I started to do Bead or Diamond Art, have done about 40 up to now. Also I have just recently purchased a tongue Drum and hope to learn how to play this.
I am 80, disabled and housebound, not been out of my flat in over 2 years apart from when they come and take me to hospital for appointments or admission. i needed something to keep me busy.

serendipity22 The bag is lovely. Can see why you had so many to make. Easter ahead, no doubt bunnies, chickens and eggs will abound in your designs.

I've dabbled in, and continued with, lots of things: cross stitch, paper crafts, kumihimo braiding, jewellery making, (have done a silver smiths class and have an as yet unused rolling mill awaiting space to be used), needlefelting (ouch), playing the accordion and assorted other crafts. The ones I indulge in most are playing the piano (I've played since I were a tiddler), crochet, lacemaking and motorcycling. A bit of a mixed bag really! Unfortunately don't seem to be able to attach any pictures.

Sewing clothes for me is my main passion. I keep a spreadsheet of everything I make and last year I made almost 30 items - 4 coats/jackets, 7 dresses, 10 tops, 2 skirts, 2 outfits for my baby granddaughter and 2 sets of curtains for my DS new home. During the evening I sit with knitting, cross stitch and crochet. I also paint watercolours sometimes. I'd love to look at my ancestry, but don't seem to have the time.

Any one else tried paper quilling. My son bought me set for my birthday last year and I love it. I made cards and lately tried 3D like this polystyrene egg that I decorated.

I too took up the ukelele during lockdown. I can already play the guitar a little, badly, and now I can play the ukelele badly too! My main passion is martial arts though. I'd recommend it to everyone. I do tai chi for relaxation and learning how to kill people gently ? and karate because, well, a bad day at work and it relieves all my stress. And no you don't have to be super fit (you will get fitter) and I've got a replacement hip too so any ability is fine, you adapt. None of this trying to kick people in the head for me, a swift kick in the groin is much easier and should achieve the desired result!

Not sure it’s a hobby - more an obsession . Am writing a novel (nearly done first draft). I belonged to short story writing groups for years and gave them up as I don’t have the headspace to write both, but I miss the camaraderie of a group of like- minded people

Anything and everything! Knitting, sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening, walking, card making, writing, baking etc. Mostly I'm the typical Jack of all trades, master of none, but I have had quite a few short stories and articles published.

I enjoy walking, reading, audiobooks, music, learning new languages on DuoLingo, crocheting, card making, doing quizzes, puzzles and competitions.
I won a Christmas hamper which was delivered on Christmas Eve - a lovely surprise! ?I’ve won a few small prizes, but I’m still waiting for the ‘Big One’!

Archery, yoga and knitting.

LilacChaser the Big Garden Birdwatch is coming up, 28th-30th Jan. I love doing it, sitting with a cuppa counting all the birds in my garden.
I enjoy baking, but as I live alone I end up giving it out to people instead of eating it all myself....that or my wee dog gets a lot of walks.
I went to college years ago and studied Interior Design and have enjoyed doing house refurbishments, but my body isn't able to do a lot of the work now so this has been my last one. I'm just happy now giving family and friends ideas and advice for their homes and they can get the tradesmen in to do the hard work.
