Fireworks

How I wish they'd ban them or at least make them one night only, any excuse these days, what's wrong with people that they can't have a good time without ridiculous amounts of noise that cause others so much unhappiness.
They're certainly not needed at birthdays and weddings, surely those events are celebration enough without these silly attention seeking signals. Stay inside at the party and have party poppers instead & then nobody else has to endure them.

If only you could get dog earphones and he would wear them Namsnanny, that would be great.
We do have ClassicFM blaring out though, and off he goes to ? My dh has never listened to classical music before, he is more motown and gregory porter.

I have to admit I can ignore most of them except the really noisy bangs that make me jump. By January we usually have a roof cluttered with dead rockets and they clog our gutters up.

A couple of years ago one fell off the roof and nearly clobbered our postie - fortunately he heard the clatter above him and it missed him by about a foot. I was opening the door at the time and we both had a bit of a shock. We joked about it but it was a bit scary to think he could have sued us if it had fallen on his head.

I had to chuckle Mayal as I had an image of a dog with large earphones on, and a happy expression on its face???

Still going off here. Last night was horrendous. Luckily, we have found that our dog really likes ClassicFM. Don't know what the neighbours must think though.
I don't think they will ever be banned unfortunately.

They are popular at New Year, Christmas wedding birthday and Diwali celebrations.
So on and off all year near us.

One time of year they dont set them off is Easter.....or have I spoken too soon.

This year the organised firework display made our windows rattle! We are a few miles away from the hotel that holds it too.
I was told the bangs are getting louder, as people seem to want a display to be memorable.
Until the fashion changes it looks as if we shall be getting more and more of them.

Every tradit and festive season now seems to be stretched out as much as possible. Can people not cope with 'ordinary time' anymore?

No doubt we'll soon be having Easter egg hunts in February and anyone who objects will be accused of being a fun sponge.

It's not just during the hours of darkness that they set them off around us..........they do it in daylight ?‍♀️ What is the point of that?

There weren't too many fireworks going off here thankfully but they are dangerous things and I don't think they should be on general sale.

We had them last night they were so loud it felt like they were just outside my house. Really booming noise. Fed up with them all week there has been fireworks round here.

May have been because of Diwali?

Fireworks are going off somewhere nearby to me at the moment. What's wrong with some people? Bonfire night was more than a week ago.

Same here. They should be banned. My poor little dog is terrified.

Still, I went to B&Q today and debated buying a growing tree for Christmas. I’m going nutty, I’d have to keep it alive for 6 weeks.

Me too Oldwoman70 ? They usually start round here mid October and go on until after New Year. Almost every night someone is letting them off. It's not even as if you can see much of them but gosh they are noisy. I like to watch organised displays but I do wish they weren't sold for private use.
