Hello the Kitchen ?
I know what you mean, soop and NannyT - these newsy pages are just flashing by. Hellogirl opened up the last Kitchen on Friday 17 September. It's only the 5th October and we have reached page 27 already. It's totally wonderful that soop's gang are together, increasing, and having such a good time.
I'm not even attempting to be Class Monitor, soop but I'm actually too terrified to stop posting because I know it'll take me days to catch up!!!! ? What to do? Actually I only rabbit on because I want to talk to each and everyone, just like we were all together.
Tonight I shall simply say that I love your boots, Yia, I'm sad. you're poorly Blossoming. Hope you are asleep and healing and not reading this nonsense! ? Ann, I've put the world to rights today and I've been RANTING at my Son about that Johnson fool......and I don't even live in the UK. Wonder why he feels that the Class Clown is a good image for the leader of a Government? NannyT your painter is clearly mad. There's a lot of it about, unfortunately. Muse - I will be around for Earl Grey one day - that's more of a threat, possibly? Meanwhile, your DD's ex is sounding less enchanting day on day. His free ride has come to an end and he's obviously in a sulk about it all. Aaah, shame! ?
Today has honestly been one of those really irritating ones. Life's stupid things which normally one would just dismiss with a look, have conspired to make me wish I'd stayed in bed.
Nobody has 'phoned back about some tree felling, ditto about the installation of a new cooker hood. One of the pool skimmers has stopped working - worried that it might be blocked with the long 'hairs' of Mr Wiggy, my wonderful shrub which has been throwing seeds out left right and centre recently. Wondering whether to own up to DH! The 'foot' has come off our large pedal bin, but DH repaired it. Received letter from Carriers who have managed to damage a huge speaker belonging to our Son which they transported to the UK a month ago. Wonder why they are writing to us, we're not the clients. Their fascinating letter tells us that they can't deal with our claim because we have used insubstantial packaging! They state further that they haven't seen the packaging, nor the speaker (our Son has sent them photographs of both) and also they're aware that the recipient has saved the packaging and they need to see it!?! (I feel a large G&T coming on and it's not even lunchtime.) I mail a copy of the idiotic letter to England - let someone else become confused.com., and take up the battle against the fixed French rule that 'the customer is always to blame - for everything'. That's their default setting!
We wanted to ride our bikes into the village but it looked like rain - but it didn't. We wanted to send something recorded delivery, so parked at the Post Office to find that it only opens afternoons 2 - 4.30pm on Tuesdays. We were there and reading this information at 3.55 but it was already closed. Grrrrrrr! We were using a trailer and loaning our bikes to a friend and we had to access a very narrow street which was partially blocked by a huge pantechnicon. Enormous struggle to get past it. New people have bought the lovely Art Deco house belonging to a dear little lady who often used to talk to me when she sat out in the sun in a chair on the pavement. She passed away a couple of years ago. Today looks like moving in day? Nice surprise - English removal company, so another English family taking up a new life here. Cheeriest thing I've seen today and so to continue the mood, decided a delicious cake might be just the thing. We stopped at the bakers and bought some and were able to meet their new Staffie; a 3 month old boy pup called Sharky. I understood why when I picked him up : when little pups are teething their teeth are just like razor blades.
I do hope that everyone has had - in the main - an entertaining, productive and happy day. Mine must be better tomorrow and I shall get out of bed with that plan in mind.
Until tomorrow, enjoy the rest of the evening, dear ladies. Keep warm, cheerful and stay well.
Hugs and best wishes from me and my bit of France! ?
