Does anyone have a Clark’s foot gauge to hand?

I worked in Etams in Oxford street in the 70s had to wear bright yellow top and brown skirt the yellow was horrible cos It didnt suit my ginger hair. Clarks shoes are a bit old fashioned I agree and quite expensive too. But I agree e mail Clarks the measurements and they should be able to tell the size you need.

I had problems here in the UK with my second son's shoes. I could find trainers with enough width, though - so he wore them to primary school.

I was talking about clothes sizes Mokryna and translated European sizes for British sizes for ease , that the largest size clothes in Etam was the equivalent of a 14 here in the UK. I was alluding to the fact that clothes and it appears shoes too are ‘slim’ in France.

I won’t buy Clark’s anymore. I had a pair where the soles fell apart in 3 weeks and they refused to take them back. I was absolutely furious. I now buy the Spanish ‘Ecco’ shoes. Far better quality imo and less old fashioned styles.

ElaineI Clark’s have told me that is something they would not be able to assist with.
NotSpaghetti I have never bought shoes through the post as I want to feel that they are comfortable and as she has already been to five shops, I just wanted to know if the Clark’s shoes would been a better width than the French ones. She has ones for school it’s just for best - for dimanche -..

This brand Bobux is both soft and wide.

DGS2 has an H fitting which is the widest Clarks do. Sometimes they go up a size in a G to get it right. Over Covid we ordered online or just got supermarket brands - TBH he has spent the last year and a half in wellies, sandals and canvas shoes.

I am really surprised that it’s so hard fir you to find wider shoes fir children and presumably adults too.
I remember going into Etams in Citie Europe some years ago, only to find their sizing stopped at a humungous size 14. I needed a 16 and slunk out red faced and embarrassed by the judgemental attitude of the young woman working there. Maybe it’s the same with shoes.
Having says that I am so looking forward to returning to France fir a holiday, it’s been too long.

Thank you. I never found width sizes for my children in France. I had the same problem with one of my DDs who had narrow feet.

My gc both have extra wide feet so normal sizes don’t fit, It is always awkward and even with the right width they have to try on a few before finding a pair which fit properly,
DD found an alternative brand to Clark’s which also do wider styles (sorry can’t remember the name) but you might Google because children’s feet are not all the same and there must be similar in France.

Thank you We all know how to measure for the length which is no problem but it’s the width I would like to know. The shop doesn’t have a tape measure. I don’t want DGD to travel to the shop and find her feet aren’t normal again. So annoying

I think (from memory) they do have cms on them.

I don't have one but I expect if you know the actual measurements of the child's feet you could email Clark's and ask what size is this please?
Or, maybe call the shop in Paris and ask them to give you the width of 1F in centimetres?
