Well I’ve said before that I live in Portugal in the Algarve and as there are an awful lot English people here, I’m not too worried.

Melbourne ,which is huge, so take your pick which suburb. I agree, you have to be a bit careful these days.

Born in Malvern, Worcestershire and lived in various towns in Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Moved to Bedfordshire for seven years then back to Shropshire and settled in Telford, been here since 1985.

Hi Fanny. I put various bits of information about myself on posts but if I were to say exactly where I live I might well be identifiable. Or maybe someone I don’t wish to find me would get a whopping great clue as to where I now live. Norfolk is a big place so I’m happy to admit to that. I’m careful to limit the amount of personal info I give on a public forum as you never know who is reading, dare I say stalking even, and adding the information up. Sorry if I’ve made GN sound creepy, which isn’t my intention, but I think we always have to bear in mind that it’s a public forum which anyone can use.

I have been outed. I put something on here which was recognised by a member of GN who I believe doesn't post but I know her sister. It made me quite uncomfortable and now I have to watch what I say.
Needless to say she hasn't contacted me.

Someone on MN got in touch with me because I mentioned something that we had in common.
We had been mates at college thirty odd years ago. It turned out that we were both doing exactly the same job too.

Well I tend not to say which town I’m from as combined with various other bits of information eg a son in Sydney, my previous job Etc I would be identifiable to anyone who happened to be on GN and know me and I don’t think I want that!

Happy to say I live in England and give the county (Norfolk), but stating the town (or nearest town as I’m in the sticks) is a bit too much info for me on a public forum.

Not being critical or goady in any way, if anything I’m being naive, possibly dim.
But what exactly concerns you?
I tell folk quite a bit of stuff on here, should I be worried?
