That means Trooping of the Colour, doesn’t it? A grand spectacle. I wonder what changes, if any, will be made this year.

It’s just been on BBC news that the Queen is going (flying?) down to Cornwall tonight to host the dinner for the G7 delegates and their other halves. Then tomorrow it’s the Trooping of the Colour. She is an amazing lady for her age. My mother is 93 but couldn’t do half the things the Queen does. I know she’s well looked after but she is still remarkable for her age.

Just watched the video of the Queen getting the Prince Phillip Rose I thought the man that planted it looked odd doing it in a suit! What did stand out is how on her own the Queen looks with out her hubby by her side I just think its sad.

The Queen has carried out quite a number of solo engagements since Prince Philip retired, so I expect she has become used to it, but yes, she must miss him.

I’m sure at any big event, such as the reception tonight in Cornwall, she will always have the support of family members.

The whole of the institution is under a heck of a lot of strain.

Well done to the Duke of Kent, I saw him a while ago and despite his health problems, he was upright, dignified and stalwart and performed his duties as one would expect of a member of the RF.
