I remember looking up at the moon and thinking that there were men walking about up there. I was only 7 so it probably didn't seem that amazing to me at the time. Now, I realise what a big deal it is/was!
Armstrong and Aldrin are the ones that people remember, but I can't imagine what it was like for Collins all alone in that capsule. If something had gone wrong, he would have been coming home on his own and it would have been a very different story. For a while, he was the most isolated man in the universe.
