Gorgeous but very cold day. Our stream is a little higher with the rain from yesterday. Picked two more strawberries and planted lots of Shasta daisies. I'd divided a large plant.
Jax I've jam-packed benches in my polytunnel too. I do hope those temps aren't set in stone but do fear there is a chance of more frost.

Hello Galen I like your two lodgers.
We are just back from having our second jabs at our local surgery, no queue and back home within 15 mins. Mr L and I both said how grateful we feel, the two nurses there were beaming when they have us our vaccination cards.
We also had our hair cut this morning and had a Tesco delivery, a busy day in the Lin S household. Weatherwise it's awful, hail showers and cold.

Most disconcerting this morning, I had some furniture delivered, not due for another seven weeks, no notice! It’s at the side of the house until DH returns from work. Went for a blustery walk, checked and watering seedlings, it’s amazing how quickly a greenhouse can get filled, I have sympathy Galen. Hope your trips out today were successful soop, some more pleasurable than others. Enjoy the rest of your journey brook after a lovely break, I do like a scenic train trip.
Think it might be a short trip to the fish and chip shop for dinner. ttfn.

Hi lovely kitcheners I’m still sat on the train now, my long journey home is going well, nice and easy with no hiccups. I got the train from Cambridge to London Kings Cross, then the direct train from there to Inverness. Just near Edinburgh at the moment. When I was as Kings Cross I had to get a picture of the Harry Potter Platform 9 3/4 as my DGC in Inverness are big Harry Potter fans!

Waiting for a delivery of a new sound system for my conservatory. Can’t get into it atm as it’s full of seedlings waiting for Gary to plant out when the frosts stop.

Belated birthday wishes to nannytopsy - I've missed a couple of days dropping into the kitchen and am consequently, having to catch up on everyone's news. My thoughts are with Panache during this difficult time . I've just been on a mission to get my mum a spiral bound notebook - had to be bound at the top because the ones bound down the side of the pad are not "convenient" for her!! So off to deliver it with her sainsbury's order shortly then chilli tonight courtesy of Mr BA. Sending gentle virtual hugs to everyone in need of a little comfort . Susan no nap would send me over the edge! He woke shouting for cake! Needless to say he had an egg instead but grandma relented and he's eating some ice cream. It isn't raining here just now so we'll probably get into the garden

Welcome Tilly to one of the best threads on GN. I'm taking the opportunity to post while dgs has a nap. We had a totally empty play park this morning so he had lots of fun . Then a saunter to feed the ducks and swans. Then a seat on a bench while he ate a blueberry muffin. The boy loves being outside. We might go puddle splashing this afternoon. I have the heating on again as it's cold. My drama queen skills will be required tomorrow so I might pop in after that. Have a good day all.

I’ve had such an enjoyable last day with DD1, SiL and two DGSs here in Cambridge despite the wild windy weather! We had a lovely afternoon at Audley End gardens and we managed to stay mostly warm and dry Then some kite flying later. It’s my long journey home to Inverness tomorrow, DH thought I was coming home today so he got an extra day to himself .. ?
I don’t like the look of that weather forecast kitty ... surely it’ll have to get better soon ...

Kitty, love your hall, if that`s an example, you must have a very posh house! My mother had a granddaughter clock, a little bit smaller than yours. It originally belonged to my great aunt, and as a child I loved it, especially the chimes. Aunt Rose always told me that it would be mine when she died, but she left it to my mother. When my mother went into a home, she left the clock with my youngest sister to be looked after, but they hated it and turned the lovely chimes off. I dread to think what happened to it after my mother died in 2004.

Hope you have had a lovely birthday nannytopsyand your steak in stilton sauce sounds delicious. I wish my DH was as good a cook as your DH.

It has chucked it down ALL DAY here today. That said, it finally stopped half an hour ago and the sun actually came out for 10 minutes. Gloomy again now.

Ah well, didn’t affect me. I’ve read some of my Anna Quindlen novel, then watched a film on DVD this afternoon. All I was short of was a box of chocolates like Popeye’s goil friend Olive Oyl. Remember how she used to eat them? Always made short work of them in double-quick time. Susan keep practising #lazygran.
Mind you, I’ve had years to become this proficient.

Talking of snooker, which I wasn’t really, Shaun Murphy used to practice regularly round the corner from us here in Urmston - at the Conservative Club. Himself just reminded me. A very popular bloke apparently. At the 2012 World Snooker Championship Murphy donated £100 to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity for every century he made apparently.

One dry walk with Mya this morning and two wet ones this afternoon. Had to get all the wet gear out again.

Made some ciabatta rolls and a mushroom and chicken risotto is planned for later. Still some rhubarb crumble left.

Hoping for a good night's sleep. Yet another bad one last night.

Actually enjoyed being inside today. Caught up with the podcasts about LoD. Great interviews with Jed Mercurio.

Still car less. Been without it for 6 days now. MrM tells me it needs a new rubber thing for the propshaft. He also tells me it's OK to drive without the propshaft - I've got to drive 20 miles to get a this rubber thingy. Just don't put the car into 4 wheel drive he says!
