Meghan making a formal complaint to ITV.She has every right to -but on it goes.
She's over there now. Pregnant and apparently trying to find peace.Harry should take her phone and tell her friends that fed her all the negative stuff in the press-as she said she never read about herself- they are taking a few days out from everything. If he really wants to protect her.

Piers Morgan walking off set this morning
(185 Posts)Well I actually missed it, but have just been shown the vid of Alex Beresford giving his take on Meghan & Harry, I must say I don’t think it’s done Piers any favours upping and walking off like that
My apologies galaxy thought I had caught up properly.
I was referring to the fact that Morgan couldnt tolerate someone else's viewpoint. A poster said they too would have walked off. I was asking why you would walk off, as Morgan did, just because someone held a different view to you.
Morgan said he “didn’t believe a word” of someone saying that they had experienced suicidal thoughts.
It wasn’t simply a case of expressing a different viewpoint galaxy.
For someone expressing a different viewpoint?

Just pity he won't stay off!
He will. Stay away that is. he has left Good Morning.
I think he just walked off to calm down. He did come back. I would have done the same in those circumstances.
I think there are many conversations to have about free speech, and who should have control of it, usually the last people you would want to control it in many cases. However it is laughable for Piers Morgan to be pretending to stand up for free speech, he walked off set because he couldnt tolerate someone else's viewpoint.
Well, MM certainly is; she has made a formal complaint against him.
It seems to me Piers Morgan is getting more coverage across the news today than M & H. Even politicians talking about him too.

Sharon - Ozzy Osbournes wife maybe, hardly significant
That aside, the recent trend where news presenters actually promote their own opinions rather than just reporting the the news, is a big change. It’s been happening in newspapers for some time and I don’t think it’s a change for the better because a lot of bias can come in.
The rules are different between newspapers and broadcasters. Newspapers can be as biased as they wish within the laws eg of libel, copyright, confidentiality etc.

I don't watch morning TV, so can't really pass comment.
However, according to Sharon Osbourne Piers Morgan was 'speaking his truth'.
If MM speaks her 'truth' in front of millions casting aspersions left right and centre and in doing so is able decry the Britsh establishment and her inlaws to boot on worldwide television, why can't anyone else have the right to reply with their 'truth' ?
Who is Sharon Osborne? What’s her ‘truth’?

For those who are confused regarding the free speech comments.
We do have free speech in the UK in the form of freedom of expression, a right defined in the Human Rights act - however it is considered a 'negative' right in the UK as our free speech cannot be hate speech. So, any expression that is racist, ableist, sexist, homophobic etc is considered hate speech and there are rights and laws designed to protect from it. In practice of course it's harder to pin down, because impressions of what constitutes hate speech vary. They shouldn't but they do.
The point being made is that it is absolutely right that hate speech is not free speech.
The point just wasn't made very clearly.
It’s more than just about hate speech though isn’t it? We have libel and slander laws, we have reporting restrictions in our courts and other restrictions related to the judicial process , we have privacy and confidentiality laws, we have the seal of the confessional. All this limits our rights to say what we want when we want unfettered. There have been threads deleted on GN because they were subjudice or libellous. The thing is with freedom of speech, as it’s played out in the country atm is that it’s seen as ‘a good thing’ by those who agree with what’s been said.

I don’t get up early enough to watch breakfast tv but DH does. Over the past year PM has been one of the few presenters/interviewers to hold the government to account for their mishandling of the pandemic. Only the other day he spoke out about people jogging past other people and not wearing masks, something that bothers us when we’re out walking the dog.
I never watch GMB, but am sort of aware that Morgan has been very critical of the government in recent months, which is no bad thing, and something any good reporter should do.
But here’s the thing, just like others of his ilk he isn’t above lying to get a story “proved”, isn’t above bullying or lacking control.
I can’t support someone like that.

WWM2 Thank you, I'm guilty of it myself more often than I'd like.
??
I read a few weeks ago that his contract was up and he would be leaving in April. I suspect it was all contrived , so he left amidst a drama and to add intrigue to the show .

We don’t have free speech on GN do we?
Sometimes posts do cross the line on discrimination of minorities and personal abuse is not allowed otherwise we’re pretty free to express our opinion,
You’ve made my point - there is nowhere that has unfettered free speech.

WWM was there a need to be so patronising?
Then don’t ask daft questions to which you clearly know the answer.
It took me a moment to fathom what was meant. However thank you for letting me know that you are another poster who thrives on pointless hostility. Another one to ignore.
I apologise for my remark. I let my irritation get the better of me at times and always regret it.
I agree with what has been said before, PM overstepped line line. However, government officials must be very happy that they will not be grilled by him
The two interviews this morning, one dealing with Facebook trolling and the other with costs on track and trace were not dealt with in depth, they got off very lightly.

In respect of the opening post, I should imagine that by the end of the week, PM will have another job and will carry on the tradition of "gobshiteing" for Tabloid news. He feeds the hate he knows is out there re; M&H or anything/anybody else.
GB News is an apparent candidate. Just think two massive egos in the form of Neil and Morgan.
