Shabby but not chic ! Rather depressing, I couldn't stand a room like that, but she must like it. Probably not a person much bothered by their surroundings.
It's hardly Ideal Home, but very much what we might expect from a no-nonsense, horsey, upper class lady. She looks very comfortable in it and it suits her. I have a lot of respect for Princess Anne .
Not unlike my sitting room with bits and pieces everywhere. As house that is lived it and not a show house and where friends feel comfortable. It’s not a show house.
I have to say that I find all the posts from people who have criticized PA for her taste ect pretty judgemental. Why do some folk like to think that their taste is the only good one? I have met Princess Anne at a Carer’s meeting once and she was so down to earth and nice, it was all the ‘staff’ that surrounded her that made you feel uneasy. She is the only Royal who is true to herself and her daughter seems to be following in her footsteps. I would happily sit her sitting room/tv room/snug and have a cuppa with her.
Yes, that was abit OTT by the Daily Mail, no need to scrutinise in detail! I thought she might be ready for a nice recliner by now! But she is happy to make do with a support cushion...
I dont like it ,we were asked what we thought of it.I'm not a guest in her home and I would never pass remarks about someone elses house .If we weren't supposed to give an honest opinion what was the point of the post?
I'm sure Princess Anne couldn't care less about our views, hence why she allowed photos to be published - knowing that there'd be lots of remarks made.
Someone commented, once, that Grand Designs houses almost always have a 'snug' type room where the owners actually live.
Far too cluttered for me too. I've always wondered how Princess Anne's husband has always managed to stay under the radar. I don't know anything about him and you never see them together. Strange how the press haven't done any stories on him.

I think he’s a huge support to her, but quietly in the background. He has often been seen on tv documentaries talking about her. Peter and Zara Phillips seem to have a great relationship with him also.
