And especially, ‘Eternal Father Strong To Save’ (For Those in Peril On The Sea) - it was my father’s favourite - he spent 2 years on the very perilous North Atlantic convoys during WW2 and it was sung at his funeral.
I’m not at all religious and except for weddings and funerals haven’t been to church in ages, but if I had a nice, cosy old C of E close by, and could be sure of my favourite hymns coming up, I think I could almost be persuaded...
