What have you stopped doing since lockdown?

So much
I miss meeting my 2 younger grandchildren from school once a week, seeing them grow and develop
Going on a leisurely look around shops especially charity shops love to support them.
Going for a coffee.
Generally going where and when I want.
Not being able to get a haircut.
Generally watching my physical and mental health and wellbeing deteriorate.
No fun!!

If your underwire bra is uncomfortable do as I have done and take our the wires. Just take a stitch cutter or scissors and snip the stitches and you will find the wire can be pushed out quite easily. It makes a big difference to comfort.

I still use makeup, wear a bra, and perfume. That's who I am.

I do miss seeing my girl friends, lunching out, trips up to town, going to see a film, and various clubs that I like to attend.

I too have ditched the wired bras and find the step-into soft bras (which I wore for Pilates/Yoga) much more sensible. Have just ordered another 3. Love them......bliss!!

Stopped watching 'Eastenders' Didn't miss it when it went off air during first lockdown so I just didn't bother tuning in when it came back. Feel free!

I think being in lock down is bad enough without giving things up.
I am still wearing full makeup every day- it is for ME not anyone else.
I cannot see DGC or DSs. Being with DH all day & every day is trying as I am used to the house to myself during the day. Do men really lose the ability to make a coffee even when they have just bought a flash new coffee maker?
Roll on the time when we get back to normal before we forget what normal actually was!

God the list is too long, yes stopped visiting/hugging family (didn't go visit anyone else anyway) never wore make up unless on holiday or a night or meal out (& then not much) as really didn't need it- didn't wear 'proper' underwired bras anyway, but crop tops/ sports bras- so no change there- but I have given up the mooches round the stores, and meals or cinema trips out with family, especially something my 2 youngest sons and i would enjoy together, no holidays which we loved, and would often also include youngest DD or one of my GC.Oh, and my trips to hairdresser, or a massage, i do miss those..These lists we've all made are depressing ladies! (I did glean one idea though, i had given up bothering faffing with contact lenses (pre-covid) but the comment from Wheniwasyoung about lenses gave me the insight that actually, starting to wear them again, when i do have to go anywhere, will prevent the dreaded glasses 'fog up' when wearing my face mask...??

I have given up colouring my hair every 4 weeks. Not liking the look so far (probably) vanity, and it’ll take at least 12-18 months to fully grow out, by which time I’ll probably decide I hate the ‘old granny look’ and dye it all over again? Such a dilemma!!!

Oh yes, miss having time alone, as on the days my sons were at college& uni, the cat& I had house to ourselves on some days and in good weather would both be out in garden just enjoying the sun and each others company.with nothing much else to do.??

For those who have stopped colouring their hair (I gave up on mine a couple of years ago), I saw a lovely meme on FB which read that " 80% of blondes will disappear by the end of lockdown." I wish I could still say that it does not affect me, as a natural blonde, but it is grey now

Swimming. I really miss it.

Stopped washing my hair and using straighteners as often. My hair is probably heaving a sigh of relief. My hands may not agree as they getting washed and sanitised a hell of a lot more.

It seems we were bound by the tyranny of bra-wearing and make-up schlapping from the messages above! I looked into the research (what else is there to do?) and apparently wearing a bra is next to useless and does very little to support anything, it just creates a cleavage and a desired shape, for now. It is only if you are overweight your breasts will sag a lot, but they will with or without a bra eventually! Underwires have long been the subject of controversy, get a good sports bra if you feel too free with out one, they are so comfy. As for the make-up my skin has improved and I don't constantly touch my eyes in case I have smudges, so all good there! PS I don't think DH has noticed the lack of make-up and is OK with the bra-less situation!

- Going anywhere
- Theatre - although National Theatre at Home subscription is looking good!
- Seeing and hugging the DACs & GCs, very difficult as we’re all huggers, especially difficult as DH isn’t (I blame it on ‘boarding school from the age of 7’ syndrome)
- Regular childcare role for one DGC and having the two eldest to stay
- Volunteering at my local Foodbank, this has been especially hard as it really made me feel useful.
- colouring my hair, what’s the point?
- makeup, my skin has never looked better!

A bit off piste but where does everyone get their camisole type bra tops? I get mine from UNIQLO but would like to find other suppliers.

Wow I'm amazed not to see anyone doing like me i.e. not bothering with putting my denture in! It's just for one tooth, but right at the front. I've hated it since I got it a couple of years ago, but wearing masks has made it unnecessary as I live on my own.

Things I miss are dancing and singing, both of which I do a lot of when not in lockdown, and seeing my daughters and granddaughter.

Dieting!

I've given up wearing my hearing aid, because it pings off when I take my mask off!

I too have stopped putting on make-up before going shopping and don't bother with a bra very often either.

Stopped going out.

Stopped going to church.

Wearing jeans - they seem so uncomfortable now, I think they all must have shrunk!

Driving - always hated it and now that I haven’t done any for 10 months I’m not sure I’ll ever pluck up the courage to do it again.

Collecting the grandchildren from school - never thought I enjoyed it all that much but now I’d give anything to start doing it again,

concerts

I still wear makeup but have given up foundation and use a bb cream instead. Foundation was rubbing off on the face mask.
