They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

I took these yesterday on my walk the little hedgehog was toodling along the bottom of a hedgerow and the Red Kite soaring over the golf course, loving all your lovely pics of London where I've lived all my life.

It’s actually wrong to post pictures of grandchildren without the parents permission. I work with children and we would be legally pulled over doing this.

Anyone know what this gorgeous tree is? The bark looks like silk ribbon. Walking in Richmond Park on a mild day earlier this week.

My DD has one of these in her garden. I think it’s called a Tibetan cherry. The bark peels and curls in strips and it looks gorgeous when the sun is on it.

Fevertree we used to occupy a barracks in Richmond Park - hopefully pulled down now, as it was a horrible eyesore - and deer would sometimes be seen dashing off with our washing tangled in their antlers!!

The deer cull is on at the moment in Richmond Park - I'd keep away! They apparently sense something is going on and can be even more unpredictable.

That was 1964, fevertree. Then we moved up to Mill Hill where there were no stags, but I once woke up in my ground floor room to find a donkey staring in at me through the window. It had escaped from a stables down the road!

Riverwalk thankfully the park is big enough to avoid the deer. We only saw them at a distance. Some people are just plain stupid though.

I do remember two getting properly locked together River. They had to shoot them.
