Dancing with your husband, yea or nay?

I’d love to go dancing with DH but he has a bad back. Very occasionally we manage a shuffle round the room at family parties. Oh well ......

Only bed dancing for us!

I've been watching some gay Gordons on YouTube.

It really does seem so innocent.

OH can develop SEVERAL left feet at the first suggestion of a dance.

Gay Gordon's was the first dance I had with dh at a works Christmas Party.

Our children kill themselves laughing if we mention it.

They are doing the GG’s on google MissA. Always great fun in those far off innocent days.

I used to give concerts to mum and dad, mainly Scottish dancing to Jimmy Shand----until one day I slipped on the polished lino round the edges and nearly vanished under the sideboard. Ended up with a sprained ankle.

Come to think, I often entertained them. We had no TV in the early 50's .

Dad and I often danced to Nat King Cole on Family favourites.
H didn't dance, he had two left feet.

I can remember my mum talking about them.
I don't know what they were.

Just remembering the Gay Gordon’s. Now those were the days..

I had a friend who went out dancing regularly with her husband, and often her children.

They all loved rock 'n' roll, would all dress the part, and spent the evening jiving.


She also said that having a night out with her husband, dancing, was an aphrodisiac.

Dancing with your other half? But old people don't do that, do they? But if they had the temerity to do so, it might be seen.

That brings back memories of being in my junior school and dancing 'Strip the willow' in the school hall. And I think we enjoyed doing it. That was back in the early 1960s.

Yes, I remember doing Strip the Willow in the early 1960s. Loved it.

A wee smooch around the living room of an evening is a regular occurence here .My OH doesn't like dancing but hes quite happy to cuddle and slide around the floor to some good music .

Why not dance in your home? No-one else to see you and gives you a bit of exercise. The time you have to question whether you are happy about it or not is when your husband takes hold of you and dances in the supermarket!! I just went with it and laughed.

Not us - dancing at a party or dinner is the most we ever did and in later years more and more reluctantly. My mum and dad would often put music on and dance in the living room though
