How about a roaming camera, so you could just press a button when it reached your car? grin (Why can't we have a tongue in cheek emoji?)

the ticket machine in the car park said 'that's close enough' when I confuse my car with dh's and put in a random combination of letter and numbers.

We nearly got turned away from the dump because I confused it....again.
