Shoe Zone announces shop closures!!!!

The manager in our local shoezone was so rude to me we vowed never to shop in that particular branch again. However I can't help but feel for all the staff facing redundancy who must be so worried.

Yes JuneRose so many employees facing unemployment. In the case of this company around 4,000.

I promised to buy the DGC their new school uniforms ready for September, including their plimsolls.

Oh that's a real shame, the poor staff. Whats weird is that they recently had a BOGOF sale and I bought two nice pairs of summer sandals and only paid for one and two pairs of slippers and paid for one pair. Its fine for those us who can't afford Clarks for something they will probably only wear for one season.

DGS's feet grow so quickly, he needs new daps every term.

I actually like Shoezone, had some very comfy shoes from there at times,when funds were low

as someone living on less than 10 pounds a day, i feel a lot of this sneering is inconsiderate.

If plimsoles can’t be found, Vans would be a good alternative to last the school year. Even through winter.

As I started the thread, I think I should explain!

A while ago, the start of school holidays was marked by people making silly posts on here about their difficulty of choosing whether to but Van's ( at a very high price) for a granddaughter and only buying their dgs caps from Shoes Zone!

We then moved to buying onesies!!

At least that is my recollection.

Personally, I gave missed the posts!! It helped to remind us that the children had broken up.

No-one is sneering or being snooty at all.

Hmmmm. It's obvious that a lot of Grans don't 'get' why many of us are not taking this very seriously. This is a legacy from a series of threads posted using some of the key words used. We often found that they were posted at half term or during school holidays.
We are not sneering at Shoe Zone itself. It's just a shame that someone fixated on it in these odd threads.
