Galen Whoever demolished your chocolate cake (and didn't leave any for us) have excellent taste in the finer things in life. I suppose we'll have to settle for lemon drizzle cake...big portions, mind.

We had a visitor and he stayed a very long time. Now I'm all behind with my afternoon routine. It was good to blether. No complaints.

Children who insist on sharing your bed have that effect Galen! DGC have gone home and we have had a nap! It was good to see them and I enjoyed seeing the 6 yo vegetarian eat three helpings of steak pie. Apparently it’s little piggies he doesn’t eat. ?

Good evening to you all, I hope everyone has had a peaceful Sunday. An update on the alpaca wool hunt. I had a lovely pm from a fellow knitter with info on a supplier of good quality wool. I have a supply on the way so am a happy bunny. Baby blankets on the horizon. I am being lazy am comfortable on the sofa and have just realised I am late putting out the food for the nightly hedgehogs. Two come before dark, I could be in trouble if I don't move. Have a good night all.

Galen, it's good that your chocolate cake was appreciated. GC, in my experience, have an insatiable appetite for cake. My oldest grandson's first word was 'cake' and he is now, at 16, a very good cook. So there's hope for you that the tables will be turned.
I must have been asleep for a while as I hadn't realised that Dreamkeeper had gone back to being Panache. I'm very glad about that. Good to see you to the fore again, Panache and adhering to the restrictions of lockdown, though you do have a pleasant environment. The weather forecasters tonight say that it will be warm (even hot) towards the end of the week. One extreme to another? It's been a dreary weekend here.

Thank you all for your lovely messages of condolences. We’re very sad here. The children are having lots of head and tummy aches. The girls in particular are having very stroppy melt downs. Yesterday when I had to try and calm things down my grandson(10) said “Nanna they can’t help it. It’s because our mummy died. Daddy was crying this morning because he misses mummy. I only cry at night so I don’t upset them” he’s a little hero. They are at least talking about their mum. For the last few months during the worst of her illness and death they haven’t said anything. The youngest burst out crying yesterday asking me “how will we get money now daddy can’t go to work” The little things they worry about! My son has coped really well up to now he’s kept himself busy...too busy really, never stopping but yesterday when I telephoned he picked up but simply couldn’t talk. I collected the children and it was obvious he’d been crying. It’s so upsetting witnessing all this pain in the people I love most in the world. I realise that this thread has almost reached its maximum. I don’t want this misery infecting the nice new kitchen. I think the next part of this harrowing journey maybe very hard so you may not hear from me for a long time while we try to get back on an even keel. You’ve been amazing letting me off load here. It’s helped me enormously. Enjoy the new kitchen. Here’s hoping for better times to come, for us all.

morethan2 I am so sorry to hear about the terrible time your family is enduring. My condolences. I'm having a break between babysitting stints as dg is napping.

Morethan you have all been through so much. What lovely family memories you have there. Those children will be a comfort to their father and to you all, and children have resilience that we seldom give them credit for. You have a hard road to travel. One step at a time.?

I have known sadness but this is something else - to see your own child, your grandchildren suffering so, your dear DIL and her parents too and to keep going, you are just amazing.
