If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude

Such lovely weather again! A day of nice surprises! I stumbled on a thread with the grand title; "Got to thinking just now - can we be nice about posters." (Urmstongran)

All good friendly positive stuff! But where are the jokes?
And I don't mean Scotch ones like "Comfy? Melbourne"
I'd rather die laughing!.
GreatNan would be spinning in her grave! hmm
When I was carted off on Valentine's Day, there was a thread on Chemotherapy which, being a very relevant subject, or so I thought, had been deleted when I "got" back. It had some useful posts, but when I asked HQ "Why!" they said it was 'dodgy'! How they can tell, I just don't know.
The hospital I was in was where my dear Vera died, Christmas Eve 2015 and where I'd spent every day and it was a trip down memory lane to visit her room in the palliative care ward. No real emotion involved; just calm reflection, sadness to think we had clung together for just over 62 years until cancer "us did part" You don't really know what you've got until it's gone!
It's a neat 74 bed hosp, unlike the monsters being built everywhere and where I"d prefer to die if it doesn't happen at home first, or under a bus along with Freda! shock

Any way, enough of that!
No more problems with BPPV, I'm pleased to say and also keeping up the coffee therapy! grin
Our Michelle (remember? Bournemouth, beige cardis!) and DH have just returned from a holiday in Thailand with no virus or quarantine problems' Our economy is still suffering the absence of Chinese tourists and students.
Have we any current subscribers to "The Oldie" mag? You should, it's a very erudite publication and, who knows, if we have a combined GN group we might be able to negotiate "deals" Please think about it! Only £4.75 p. month.
I've copied the aforementiond thread to read at my leisure whilst sitting out in the sun with a cup of coffee and before it disappears for whatever reason. I see you've placed me with the "Single Ladies of the Jacaranda Retirement Village" hmm Sounds good! Do you think they could massage my BPPV back to normal?
Oopsadaisy I'd love to chat about that, whenever. PM if it suits.
Fatgran You frightened the life out of me! First you said you'd scoured the obituaries and then I see your post under "bereavement"! Wasn't it Oscar who had something to say about this fake news, or was it Mark Twain? Whoever! things have settled down!
Oh well! more home visits by 2 nurses and Kath. my carer tomorrow! Can't say life gets tedious at the moment! grin OoRoo

Hi Rufus yes it must have been a trip down memory lane visiting your dear wife's room at the hospital. Sadly it will happen to all of us, sooner or later, and one or the other will be left to cope alone. I try not to dwell on it, even though it does cross my mind, especially if we have been lucky enough to enjoy a happy relationship. Weather in the U.K. unchangeable for the foreseeable future! Great! I guess the weather is no 1 reason why people emigrate! So it's goodnight from me Rufus sweet dreams. moon

Good Afternoon Rufus a lovely post about Vera, and written with humour.
I am out at the moment but have stopped in a coffee shop for my fix.
Anyway have to dash as car park ticket is running out.

Hi Rufus
Pleased that you are getting back to ‘normal’ not too normal though or we won’t recognise you. You must have had very mixed emotions in the hospital, is it your nearest? Or do you have other options close by?
Most of my family lived quite a way from me so I have never needed to go back to hospitals etc. Just the funeral homes and churches. Which is bad enough.
I’ve spent the day fixing the beds after GCs and DD left late last night so up to my eyes in washing.
Have a peaceful evening and try to stay balanced ( an in BPPV joke there)

I'm not up to date with things Rufus, but glad to hear from you.
Speaking of the weather we've had some glorious sunsets here of late. Golden and pink, always seem uplifting and special some how. Wish I could send you one.

It was me who put you with the Single Ladies of the Jacaranda Village Rufus.
In fact I was so concerned about what they might have done with you that I did pm you.

Sorry to hear you haven't been well, hope you have recovered properly now. Tha sounds very unpleasant.

Calli I might have guessed it was you! shock Now I know why they are single and not necessarily "Ladies". My BPPV went off the chart! hmm

Rufus, it’s certainly a good read, maybe more for the ‘Ladies’
Joanna Nells, the author lives in Sydney (OK I know it’s a long way from you) and has an amazing understanding of ‘mature years’. Her second book about. Mrs Parker really resonated, looking forward to her next.
May amuse you whilst you ‘convalescing’.
All the best, keep up the good work.???
