Following on from the thread about films, who do you see yourself (and your OH) as, in a film. For me it would be Rosie in The African Queen with Humphrey Bogart in that boat, or Eddie's mum in Eddie the Eagle especially at the end when she meets Hugh Jackman.
And also Katharine Ross in Butch Cassidy. I'm sure there are many more.
I know this is an idle thread but just sat down after a busy day!!
There's only one for me, Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher). Smart, brave, loyal, funny, feisty, sexy and I'm meaning both Leia and Carrie. Wonderful leading lady.
Oh perhaps I should have said Princess Leia too - in the 70s I used to plait my hair and wind it over my head a la Princess Leia and was told on many occasions that I was a dead ringer for her!
It would have to be Mary Poppins for me - as long as I had magically improved my voice! I did play the part in a show we put on with the local operatic society when my children were small, but it was, fortunately, "Supercalifragilistic . . ." much of which is spoken verse.
After several years of marriage, whilst we were reminiscing, DH told me he had thought I looked like Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca when he met me. I'll take that!
Deborah Kerr in 'An Affair to Remember' playing opposite Cary Grant. I know the film was really sad in that she ended up in a wheelchair but she also ended up with Cary Grant!
