Storm arriving soon! Batten down the hatches.

Saturday horrible windy with horizontal rain. Today not so much rain at the moment but more due later. Still very windy.

One polycarbonate roof section on conservatory lifting. ( Very old conservatory, wouldn’t mind it going totally but don’t want it leaking!) ‘Ivy tree’ ( large tree stump covered by years and years of ivy growth) approx. 8 feet high has gone. Yippee as I was going to get someone to chop it down as it was taking all the light from a nearby bed.

It certainly has arrived here (south of Denmark).

The cat made a couple of quick trips outside this morning and is now cuddled down in our bed.

We never have power cuts in storms, it shocks me to hear you still do.

Plenty of food in the house.

It started early hours here in Surrey.
We have had one fence panel down in front garden & 2 at back so far. I fed birds this morning & cats sitting by cat flap looking sad.
DS had taken DGD to Bluewater to spend her Christmas money because it will be quiet on the roads! Must be mad!
We are not going anywhere. It's actually quite nice to know we can't go out. There is a rugby match on TV this afternoon & I have cooked tonight's dinner ready to heat up so all in all quite a nice day.

I have driven to the next town to get some provisions plus paper. It's not to bad for me but if you are unsteady on your feet I would not go out.

Ireland was supposed to be hit first but we've only had gusty winds so far. At the moment its sunny. I feel it's been hyped up yet again.

I had a 5 minute lull, just after the rain, took the oportunity to get rid of re-cycling and check the water barrier on the floor. Its 100% good, I am very pleased to say the least. Nothing blown in the garden. At least I will know if my measures work this week, for the future. If we get summer storms then I will put the bistro patio tables and chairs in the garage to be safe.

All dishes washed by hand and lunch is prepped also soup is hot in a flask. Nothing else I can do, except worry about the AC and how they are faring but I am trying not to, I need to find a good film later, to fully absorb me. Wish I had biscuits and sweeties in the house, there is not one!!

Here in Sweden the storm is in full force, not as bad as in the UK but bad enough, we are prepared for a power cut, water in, candles ready, however no way to heat the water/food etc,but we can flush the toilet with the buckets of water, thats a consolation.Good luck to everyone in the middle of the storm,keep safe.

Keeping all the shutters down today except for the room I am in but even though there is double glazing the inside doors are rattling. I don’t believe it is as bad here,Versailles, as the UK at the moment.

East Sussex: just been for a power walk on a nearby Nature Trail, was very exhilarating to say the least ! Wheelie bins blown all over our village, and several trees are down already.

It's got much worse here in Cheshire within the last half hour. The wind has picked up and the rain is so torrential that I can see waves of water blowing horizontally past the windows. Don't like this.

I wish they would stop inventing bleeping silly names for the storms etc! Its perishing stupid& childish- why cant we just say its another storm or hurricane or whatever without giving it a blinking name like its a person! Give it a number if they must but not a blooming persons name.its sooo annoying

Not much here at the north east coast, we've had a few gusts overnight but apart from heavy rain its ok. It might get worse later.

My husband parks the car on the road in case a tile flies off the roof. Having said that, one of our front room ceilings is leaking!!

I’m remembering a recent thread on airing your house. Plenty of air in mine, I might as well be sitting in the garden, thanks to old sash windows. They’re rattling and the curtains are flapping. Luckily the wind rarely blows hard from the south.

South East Essex here, by the coast - and winds really getting up to hail force now, plus rain. Many things falling over and blowing around outside. Looks like it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

Wind starting to rev up here, so far just lost one fence panel, tho to be fair the whole lot, eight, need replacing. The spaniel is most interested in the gap left, hope next doors cat is safely inside?

Pretty windy here in Berkshire. Things blown down in the garden and fences wobbling. It’s the gusts that cause the trouble.

Pretty bad here in the East Midlands, my daughter’s fence has gone so can’t let the dog out unaccompanied. My biggest concern is my youngest son due to fly back in to Stansted later this afternoon. Anyone have news of flight cancellations? Stay safe everyone!

Wind really picking up speed here,North West, we live on the edge of moorland, farmland behind us...getting the full brunt of the wind,hail and rain..love watching it..glad we had our roof replaced last summer....

It’s windy and a bit rainy here in Edinburgh but not the cataclysmic storm I was expecting - maybe it’s on its way. Last night was very windy and rainy. The good news is that DS’s rugby match has been cancelled and I’m spared catering duty - woohooo!!!

We lost power for an hour, heating is on and all the necessaries getting done because the worst is yet to come this afternoon x
