Yes I'll have to put it on the list.

Definitely give your cousin a visit if you get a chance Nandi.
I went over for six weeks and we went travelling.
Queensland is just amazing!

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm in north east England. My cousin lives in Brisbane but I haven't had chance to visit yet.

Hello Nandi Hope you enjoy Gransnet. I have not posted on Mumsnet for ages but still enjoy reading the posts.

Evening all. Sunny, but windy day. Travelling down the U.K. M6 tomorrow, gusty winds 70 mph expected.
I’d love some warm sun. Fond memories of visit to Oz. Best wishes to all.

Cheers Rufus, take care?

Buffybee Fri 07-Feb-20 20:36:38

Sorry Nandi should have said Hello!
Hope you enjoy Gransnet.

Hi Rufus, We’ve had a bit of your sunshine for the last couple of days, warm enough for us to sit out but you would consider it freezing.
My old girl Buffy enjoyed a little walk in the sun, she’s 16 but she still likes her ‘sniffathons’ as I call it.
Must give my friend a call, to check she’s ok with the downpours in Brisbane. She lives in Margate on the Redcliffe Penisula, right on the sea-front. She’s a fellow Mancunian and like you left for Oz many years ago.

Hello everyone. Just joined gransnet. I'm a mumsnetter and been on there about 15 years with different names.

I like the cockroach idea but I like rats so feel a bit sad for them wink

Good Afternoon everyone. Lovely day here. Only in America could they think of something like that.
Anyway hope everyone had a lovely day.

Hi Rufus well I must say you are well cared for! Dry sunny weather here but cold, still it's only February, seen snowdrops and crocuses so Spring is not far away. Having a cup of tea and cake after shopping actually sitting outside! That's a first this year. Well have a good week end. smilewine

Rufus Only in America!! wink

G'Day; Was going to say "hope you are all well" but can't having just passed by the "Good Morning" thread! shock
My Friday has been a hectic "get up and go" day, mostly with the medical /carer fraternity wink
First up Carer to prepare for shower; then dressings prior to routine check-up with ophthalmologist; then home for more nurse attention from nurses like "jacqui". Can't complain!! Always look on the bright side of life! grin
Jan, my neighbour called in for a chat and said that our major, monster shopping centre was practically deserted with empty parking spaces everywhere, which is practically unheard of for a Friday; but of course the Chinese are staying away in droves; so will I because I've no choice. sad

Spotted this "Odd Spot" in our daily paper!
" a Texas zoo is running a Valentine's Day event with a difference - allowing jilted lovers to name a cockroach or a rat after their ex and then see it fed to a larger animal. Visitors to the San Antonio Zoo website can pay $5 to name a cockroach after their ex., or $25 for a rat. The roaches will be fed to various animals, while the rats will be fed to snakes. The feeding will be livestreamed online so the lovelorn can watch their animals being eaten" grin
I don't know why, but in my mind's eye I envisaged females forming the longer queue to subscribe, but I'm sure no Grans would be so vindictive!?
Interesting use of websites though!
Quite warm here; 28C, but a fairly "dirty" sky; no rain clouds; probably residual bush-fire smoke It's almost Saturday and talk of storms!
This crazy summer is ludicrous; Sydney and Brisbane are being belted by huge dumps of rain!
Btw; someone on another thread asked if Gransnet look-alikes existed elsewhere. Not here, I'm. afraid, although there are a few members scattered around the country; Get-togethers are obviously not feasible. sad
