Me too, Baggs and Chicken; I only do what I can get away with, but, having spent twenty two years serving Queen and Country, DH likes his creases in the right place, not all over the place?. He is not averse to ironing shirts (he had plenty of practice) but it takes him soooo long! I could make a shirt in the time it takes him to iron one, but unfortunately, sewing is something else in a long list of things I’m no good at?!
Harri I’m so sorry for your loss.?

(1001 Posts)Here we are again. Happy as can be...all good pals and jolly good company.
Whatever we need to share...feel free to join in.

Harrigran and morethan
and a virtual gentle hug.
Susan Happy birthday to you. The photograph that you shared with us is perfect. It will hang in our very special gallery togther with all the other precious "peoples".
Baggs I am happy to dash away with the smoothing iron. Strange lady (me) finds it therapeutic.
We thoroughly enjoyed watching Alan Bennett on tele' last night. We've recored 'The History Boys' and have that to look forward to. I love that man to bits.
Welcome back, dear Doodle, the Norovirus is a beastly thing. Take good care of yourself and take things easy until you have fully recovered.
kitty Your daffodils are spirit lifting. I also like the vase. It is such a pretty colour.
GrannyGravy Do a few push-ups for me, please. I do have the exercise bike in situ for a fairly gentle spin after lunch.
Greyduster I would be happy to do your ironing. Is it possible to post it on?
There is blue sky and sunshine. The cheeky hedge sparrows are having a knees-up. So much chattering and coming and going. Fiesty wee birds. Although, I think that the weeny siskin is fiestier. They are part of the back yard brigade together with tits, finch, blackbird, robin, wren, and thrush. All birds are beautiful, I'm sure you agree.
morethan your sad post was so touching. Nothing in any of your posts comes across as ‘wallowing in self pity’. You have been the rock that your whole family seems to rely on. Your sympathies are all for others. It’s not surprising you are sad and weepy. Such a terrible time for your family . I pray your DIL will pass peacefully and for strength for you and your son and comfort for all the family
Kind words, Doodle
Would that I could post it on, Soop, but I think you have enough of your own to do! I also love Alan Bennett, and The History Boys is one of my favourite films, not least because it has the late great Richard Griffiths in it - never saw him turn in a poor performance.
Hard to believe Ted is two! Once he gets those crayons open you’ll be collecting all his artistic efforts! Let’s hope he is as talented as his great-gran!
I'm in favour of anything that's therapeutic, soop. Chacun à son goût.
Ted is very engrossed there. I did not realise he was two-not so long ago he was a handsome young man in mum's arms.
TOYA
soop ----lovely picture of Ted with that enviable blonde hair. It looks as if he's going to show an interest in art. Wonder where he got that from?
Ted's Mummy told us that he is already a keen artist. We therefore sent him a parcel of arty stuff.
Baggs
What? When? How? please translate. I've done a 20 min spin on the bike that goes nowhere. My brain is addled and we've eaten all the chocs.
Chacun à son goût means Each to his own taste or, in more modern parlance, "Woteva!" ?
Baggs
and there was I thinking it was a weeny bit norty.
Away time for moi. It has been a much better day weather-wise. The sea is still frisky. I like that a lot.
We shall visit our pal in the care home tomorrow. He has a smart new room with a view of Campbeltown Loch.
When we return, I shall pop in for catch-up.
Thinking of you all especially our Granspals who are having ongoing difficulties and sadnesses to cope with.

Evening all. I am late today, then it took a while to read through everything. Condolences to harrigran and a hug for morethan. I have been thinking of your family and hoping the children have been able to give their mum hugs and comfort. Such a sad situation.
It has felt springlike today - hurrah!
Good afternoon, Nannytopsy My question is...what are that lot up to? Crumbs all over the floor, empty dishes left unwashed and not a sign of productive activity.
I shall return later and hope for some convivial company. I may have some homebaked bought cake to share.
"Dashing away with the smoothing iron" - that's a coincidence, I was teasing husband yesterday because he produces so much washing and ironing, so now he does it himself. I started to sing
"Twas on a Monday morning
That I beheld my darling" etc
He didn't like the "nimble-O" bit and was a bit upset, so I shut up. Glad he's doing his own ironing.
morethan Can't say more than others have before me. You are all in my prayers
Good afternoon, Fennel Thank you for your company. I was beginning to feel a little lonesome.
I've just this minute put my ironing board away. Tomorrow I do my pal's ironing. No worries. I enjoy it.
The sun is shining brightly. I was working away on my exercise bike and looking through the window, when I decided to seek out images in the clouds. I discovered four cloud-faces. Daft as a brush - me.
I have washed my hands that many times today that I'm beginning to wonder for my sanity. I'm not too concerned for myself should I be invaded by the virus, but, MacSporran who has lymphoma and asthma, really needs to be protected. The oncologist has stressed that his immune system is seriously compromised.
I shall log off for today. I intend returning after tomorrow's ironing session. That song Fennel is haunting me.
TOYA and hoping that you will find some time to call in tomorrow. Do look after yourselves please.

I'm here soop but feeling a bit down and lethargic today and didnt want to bring the atmosphere down.
Dont really know why I'm feeling listless except our niece has gone back to her home town and she has an uphill battle to rebuild her life. Her silly father has rushed back to his Thai 'girlfriend's and I feel a bit helpless.
Added to which the Wondrous Wolfie has chickenpox which means we wont see him or his siblings until the danger is over as I haven't had it.
Nothing to compare with the woes of lots of other people (especially some kitcheners) and I will snap out of it tomorrow. I'm just having a wallow today!!
I thought I`d posted in here yesterday, but I obviously didn`t. I was going to say what a cutie little Ted is, doesn`t seem 2 minutes since he was born.
Yesterday morning I went to see baby Grace, she`s gorgeous, just like a little doll, doesn`t half have a lot of hair.
This morning we had sun, blue sky, and a mild breeze, so I thought I`d do some much delayed hand washing. Got them all blowing nicely in the sunshine, then it clouded over and rained, DUH!!!
TOYA xx

We have had a really mixed day of weather but I got the washing dry and the ironing done. Smug? Moi?!
Evening all (Dixon of Dock Green strikes again ?)
kitty sorry you are feeling a bit low. Worrying about family always brings us down. Hope you feel better soon.
I meant to say the other day what a lovely photo of Bertie and Wolfe. I cannot believe that Wolfe has grown so big. Sorry to hear he has chickenpox.
soop when did little Teddy grow into Ted. He is such a boy now ?
callgirl how lovely to get to see the new addition. It’s always lovely to have a new baby to cuddle.
